That was wild! Prediction…suspended for remainder of regular season, required to attend anger management classes, personal apology to Wiscy assistant coach and some sort of “zero tolerance” probationary period.

Howard had gotten T'd up previous two games including win at Iowa.

Having trouble controlling himself in wake of a season gone bad that started with U-M ranked in Top Ten.

Remember he was also ejected from Big Ten tournament game vs. Maryland last March after getting into a verbal confrontation with then-Terps coach Mark Turgeon.

To answer the question - I doubt he will be fired. But he may be on much shorter leash here on out.

Bad enough he threw a hand but when his players started swinging shows a failure of leadership.

Woody Hayes was fired for throwing a punch at player.
Juwan should be gone also even if it was only another coach.

Woody was fired as much for losing three straight to U-M as punching Charlie Bauman.

He should be gone. But he won’t.

They kept a sexual predator around for decades but may fire a guy for throwing a weird girly open handed face grab? Doubtful.

I think that Jason Whitlock's comments are pretty much on point.

Gard should not have grabbed Howard either trying to explain himself.

But if Howard-Michigan is not still pressing in last minute behind by 19 when Wiscy puts in their back-ups - including two walk-ons - the whole thing doesn't happen.

However you want to describe-explain it - VERY bad look for the self-proclaimed "Leaders and Best."

I think that Phil Martelli, a former HC will be the interim.

It didn't look THAT bad to me. Maybe worth a fine or suspension but a firing/dismissal seems a little overkill.

Never count out UM till it's official. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Martelli is the Interim Coach.

He also took over in Big Ten tournament game last March vs. Maryland when Howard was ejected.

I don't really care about Howard or U-M Basketball, but -

Last March he was ejected from Big Ten tournament game after yelling at then-Maryland coach Mark Turgeon "I will (expletive) kill you!"

Last week he was caught on TV telling an official who T'd him up after he made a call he didn't like "You're a piece of (excrement)!"

Now this.

He's very lucky to still have his job.
