In addition to Sammi's great play, Q had a double-double with 17 and 10, and 7 assists ... 2 steals to boot.
Wiard added 15 and 6 boards
Jess Cook really showed up in the 2nd half with 10 points and 6 boards.
Goss added 8 plus her great D on Fair
Hanna added 6 and 5 boards
Curry also got a bucket.

Rockets won the boards 45-39
Shot 45% from three - 9-20 - and 42% overall.

Sammi was outstanding! Also great game for Cook, especially when needed late in the second half. Wiard, Lockett and Goss were good and Noverske had important contributions. Really a team effort.

5th foul on Hemphill was big and Fair going 4/20 shooting was the dagger.

As others said, really sketchy officiating hurt the Rockets. Also, Buffalo played with a lot of determination. Great job by Toledo to hang in there and not fold.

The one piece this team is missing is a backup point guard. It's not Jansen's fault. She's being asked to play out of position. Goss or Mickonowicz would look equally bad (or worse) trying to run the offense. I would have Lockett play the point when Wiard is out.

Cook did a great job of fighting through the physicality. Great defense by the whole team, especially Goss (as usual).

Rockets moved up to 58 in the NET rankings after yesterday's win. A little disappointed they only moved up 4 spots. Buffalo dropped from 56 to 62.

For me one of the most significant areas of improvement from recent years is in the decrease in turnovers. Generally I guess it reflects the high level of experience of the returning starters although there have been veterans before who continued to be careless with the ball. It certainly also reflects how good the point guard is.

Went back and watched some of the replay, and sure enough, the official scorers credited one of Q's buckets to Wiard.

This is the 2nd time this season they have miscredited a basket. One earlier game they gave a bucket made by Idowu to Jansen.
