After watching that video I believe he’s being honest, not a meltdown. Y’all know Calkins is a Harvard trained moron and Penny should not answer any of his questions going forward. I’m 100% behind Penny now after watching that.

It’d be Pearl for me. One of the best coaches in the country. But now he probably wouldn’t take this job.

At some point we (the people who run our AD) have to stop being ******* and do whatever it takes to win. They let a yankee homo carpetbagging “journalist” scare us away from hiring the guy who won the whole damn thing at BAYLOR last year. They were too chickenshit to go all in on Bruce Pearl when he could have been gotten… etc. I’m sick and tired of being scared of greatness because of media pressure or because some weak people might be offended by something or because the ones in charge are worries we will be seen as a renegade program. At some point we (the people who run our AD) have to stop being ******* and do whatever it takes to win. They let a yankee homo carpetbagging “journalist” scare us away from hiring the guy who won the whole damn thing at BAYLOR last year. And Briskbas… the last thing I’m worried about is “egg in our faces”. Egg on our faces is hiring Pastner, and losing…. Hiring a washed up has been, Tubby, and losing…. Hiring a high school coach, Penny, who damn near everyone in the basketball community thought was a total joke (and they were right), and losing some more.

So forgive me if we have a chance to hit Greg Marshall, a proven winner at the high D-1 level who actually knows how to get it done, is taking a chance at “getting egg on our face”.

The crowd tonight was nothing like Tubby crowds. No resemblance whatsoever. There were 10k there tonight. Easily. Not a full house but 3 times the Tubby crowds.

Pearl may have wanted the job, but we were committed to Pastner at the time. Once he took the Auburn job it was a dead letter and the fans wouldn’t have stood for it anyway.

Marshall won’t be the coach here. You shouldn’t want Marshall to be the coach here. And you should be embarrassed by your entire train of thought.
