Hopefully that means we win by 1.

RE: Saint Louis
We really need this one. Stating the obvious here but it's our last shot to beat a good OOC team on the road. If UAB can close OOC with wins over WVU and Saint Louis I'll be VERY happy.

I think SLU will be the best team we have played thus far. Bring our A game and we'll get the dub.

We've gotten off to abysmal offensive starts against USC and USF on the road, but have played elite defense. Hopefully we don't dig ourselves a hole again.

Arizona. The game where the Arizona player intentionally fouled in a tied game with a few seconds left because he thought they were behind.

Arizona finished ranked 37th that season. UAB 72 - Arizona 71. That Arizona team won two games in the Big Dance before getting blown out by Louisville.

Jordan Hill 6-10 235
Chase Budinger 6-7 218

In the very next game, UAB won at Old Dominion, 77-62. Old Dominion finished the season ranked 93rd.

Remember watching that game. I believe it was over the Thanksgiving Holidays. We won that game and advanced to a game against Blake Griffins OU team and got blown out. That was the first season of Mike Davis' "good years."

Edit: We actually only lost by 10 to OK...we also beat Santa Clara and ODU in the non-con. Lost to Cinci and Boston College and ultimately lost to Notre Dame in the first round of the NIT. That's back when we considered the NIT a disappointment.

He tried to, but ended up grabbing the waistband of PDIII's shorts and getting an intentional.

That was the season that started out with visions of adequacy and then . . . and then there was Mike Davis. PDIII makes T-Rod cry in practice, and he quits (but does not take WOKKA with him). Injury. Three guys caught chea . . . excuse me, "bilged their finals" plus a supposedly talented redshirt with a taste for [redacted] (same guy Davis put on scholarship by yanking Reggie Huffman's). And suddenly that great bench is the walk-on, the 5-8 dude and the coach's kid.

I do not miss Mike Davis, either of his personalities. I do not miss them at all.

RE: Saint Louis
Perhaps the best player for Saint Louis this season, Javonte Perkins (6-6 210), suffered a torn ACL in his left knee back in late October. He is out for the season.

Did he even play any games for them to season? They seem pretty darn good even without him

The injury occurred in their exhibition game.

RE: Saint Louis
Looking at team stats, SLU doesn’t take a lot of 3-point shots. When analyzing their total point distribution, 21.8% of their points come from 3 pointers. That ranks 336th in the country. There are 358 teams. UAB is not much better at 26.6%, which ranks 270th.

SLU has only one player to make more than ten 3-pointers so far this season - Gibson Jimerson is 12-33 (0.364). UAB has two players - Walker 20-43 and Johnson 11-26.

On the flip side, SLU’s free throw points account for 26.0% of their total points. That ranks 4th best in the country! They go to the charity stripe a lot, and they make them! Their team free throw percentage is 76.5%, which is 45th. UAB shoots free throws at a 71.3% rate.

In SLU’s recent OT victory over Boise State, they made 30 of 34 free throw attempts. Boise State made 12-26. SLU won the game at the free throw line!

When you become a football school, the NIT is an acceptable accomplishment for the basketball school now. Just being invited is an honor and better than not getting into any post season tournament at all.
