Does CUSA add Tarleton, Stephen F Austin, or McNeese State? We know Judy loves to add Texas schools so Tarleton and Stephen F. Austin will probably have an edge over McNeese State. If I had to choose one more school that CUSA adds it would be Tarleton.

I keep thinking a NDSU add would be sort of fun. Not at all practical but it would be fun.

And how do we know that Judy loves to add Texas schools? She was hired as commissioner in 2015. She added zero schools until this year. She and the school presidents have added 1 school from Texas, 1 from New Mexico, 1 from Alabama and 1 from Virginia. Still trolling.

NDSU, SDSU, UTEP, NMSU, LT, SHSU. A nice, geographically tight west division!

I'd rather stay at nine but gun to my head, needing to choose I'd select Stephen F Austin. I definitely wouldn't want Tarleton State. The perception of adding someone transitioning from Division II would be quite poor and I don't know how close they would be to being competitive.

I think North Dakota State would bring the most money but they do nothing for recruiting or benefiting the footprint. If they became ordinary, would they lose their following? I think they have the brand that transcends wins and losses and would be valuable but it is a risk (as every choice has risks). I think I could become okay with a football-only arrangement.

Why would Tarleton bring a bad perception? UTSA has recently went from zero to FBS even worse than Tarleton. Not too long ago, USA, Old Dominion, GSU, UNCC and Im sure others have gone from zero to FBS in just a few years. Only UTSA appears to have may the journey with much success their image hasnt been bad. UTSA, OD and UNCC were just invited to new conferences.

Not advocating for Tarleton because I know very little about the school but their move to me would look better than any mentioned above or a UTA, Wichita or UALR adding football.

The schools you mentioned were already D1 but without FB programs. They went from from D1 with no FB in a FBS conference to FB. That’s way different than a D2 that’s in year 2 of transitioning to D1. I think it’s a 5 year process.

Tarleton also have a 7M dollar budget and have not proven themselves in the FCS yet. UNA has a higher budget. If you want a west team C-UsA should get Missouri State if not then get UCA.

Yes they are different but no football to FBS is a bad look to me worse than DII, short FCS then FBS.

I had never heard of UTSA until the football came about. Had heard of ODU but thought they were DII or DIII before their football venture. UNCC had left my mind after Cornbread was gone and almost forgotten about the school. In my mind I consider school without football far down the list but I am not a basketball fan.

Again not pushing for or against Tarleton, just DII or no football most people have never heard of schools coming from either rank.

Im not even sure D2 to FBS is even possible while they are still transitioning to D1. It’s a good min before they are even considered D1 so it’s just a nonstarter anyways.

Your point does not even make sense. You want to bring a ****** school to C-USA that will not make C-USA competitive. Chances are if they was not good the FCS level they won't be good at the FBS level.I.e. Georgia State. Tarleton State is in a 5 year transition period with a budget of 7M. This should not even be a topic

Umm I don’t think NDSU is a **** school for CUSA. Because for me that’s who I would bring. Not sure what you are talking about. But speaking of GA State ATX already has a bunch of teams so another con for KSU.

Umm I don’t think NDSU is a **** school for CUSA. Because for me that’s who I would bring. Not sure what you are talking about. But speaking of GA State ATX already has a bunch of teams so another con for KSU.

I am talking about Tarleton State and KSU is in the Metro in Atlanta not downtown Atlanta which C-USA is not in. Georgia State is also the only G5 School in Atlanta. Georgia manly Metro Atlanta is one of the hot beds for recruiting. GA, FL, CA, TX. C-USA getting into Georgia would be a good thing on just that alone.

Teams don’t need to prove themselves at FCS to go FBS.

Markets only work if you command that market, KSU doesn’t command any market worth talking about. And TSU is a crap option and not my option.

Georgia State did not command the Atlanta market. Most of the G5 teams do not command any market. You really think that JSU and SHSU command the Alabama and Houston market. Hell no. You got to at lest average 30K a year to command a market.

So KSU is a good add because they don’t command any market and play in a soccer stadium like .77% of all FBS and want to model themselves after that .77% majority? Yeah KSU is totally ready for FBS……80% of their sub 10k stadium has chair backs from what I hear……pffft roll out the red carpet for the FCS powerhouse KSU! Watch out KSU will stomp P5 (FCS) powerhouses like Pee pee state and big names like Meowville University. FBS better watch out because the KSU Pee Paws has all our numbers and is going to show us that being the 4th FBS team in the ATX metro is for serious. GA State can’t command a market because they are in a highly dense area like downtown ATX. But KSU has a leg up in a less dense but still metro area….Pffft all of us are dumb if we don’t see KSU has so much upside unlike all the other teams in Atlanta.

RE: Matt Brown Update on Realignment within CUSA
Kenneslaw State is big and in a large metro area that doesn't care about them. They're only decent at football is because they're in the same league as Robert Morris, Gardener Webb and ******* Hampton. The Big South is awful... and once Kenn State runs into a decent team in the playoffs they'll get beat. Nobody cares about quarterfinal appearances or wins against overrated JSU. They have even less fans that SHSU, a soccer stadium, and a average FCS team.

DavidSt says we should add NM Highlands before Kenn State.

Georgia State did work because they had one of the worst FCS records before they moved up. The fact is you talk about a stadium but there are bad G5 football teams in football stadiums. KSU stadium looks nicer than SHSU stadium. It just need to be expanded. Most of the schools you want to add do not command a market besides NDSU, SDSU. Missouri State is a good add but they do not command the Missouri market. University of Missouri commands the Missouri market because most of the power 5 schools command the market in their state.

You need to do more research on KSU football before you speak KSU won against Missouri State, Montana State, the best SoCo in the play offs every year, JSU etc. When they lose in the playoffs they lose by less than 10 points with more than one playoff win. The fact is you say you don't care about quarterfinal appearances or wins against overrated JSU, but there are 110 FCS teams that wish they could get to the quarterfinal finals. Your point would be valid if KSU only wins Big South games and loses non-con games against good teams and lose in the first round of the playoffs. It seams like you are hating on KSU and not making valid points. The only true Con of adding KSU to C-USA attendance.
