I think, if anything, your trip down "memory lane" should remind everyone that a bad situation can happen to ANYONE given the right set of circumstances, even if the current situation looks pretty safe. My takeaway is that maybe we'll be able to overcome our current situation as you all appear to have. I just hope it doesn't take us until 2029 to do it.
You need some athletic funding buddy. Davidson Trucking cannot carry the load all by themselves and you guys are NOT in a hotbed of economic activity. Its a reality.
I would hate being in your situation.

Wow, is that what happened? Other than the fact that I know La Tech is in a massive financial bind, I am out of touch!!! Did Old Dominion suck up Davidson?

Just answer my question. How many of these anti Tech threads are started by any other school than ULL. Exactly. It now has just become personal for your school

Oh but WKU was also involved with those festivities, don't you remember? Or is that water over the dam?
I don't remember that at all.
I thought WKU fans left on good terms. Maybe I'm wrong.
I'm sure the terms for them were good.

So let’s challenge you. There is nothing you can say about Tech that you haven’t stomped your feet and repeated 1000 times. You can play the stupid AD video 1000 times but it never says anything new. So at what point does ULL STFU. Stay off our boards. Stop starting threads about big bad LaTecg on your boards. We get it. You got your feelings hurt. My only point is Tech/ULL is a game most fans of both schools want to see but am starting to think that u might be scared it might happen. But mark my word Tech will and has survived with or without you. The best way to show that you don’t care about Tech is through Apathy, not obsession. ULL has been wanting us to fail since the WAC.

Sunbelt's pride will be the your downfall, should of poached La Tech while you could, instead you let an elementary dispute get in the way and let CUSA rebuild. You're all kidding yourself if you think Liberty and Missouri State aren't going to jump your team in next realignment.
Where are they going to go? Big XII? SEC? American? Conference (LOL) USA?!?
Realistically there is probably two more schools that might get a P5 invite and it sure as hell isn't Liberty or Missouri State (you can also add La Tech to that list while you're at it). And I'm pretty sure that those two teams either reside in the American or MW and if that does indeed happen, the American had the foresight to grab six teams from CUSA to compensate for that eventual loss and no SB team is going to leave the conference for the MW. Nobody else is going to get moved unless CUSA decides to call up another FCS, Independent or startup program.
I'm pretty certain most of the Sun Belt is content with what they are...two distinct divisions with a solid, centralized geographical footprint for each group.
Sorry it doesn't involve you guys, but hey, maybe a few years out in the wilderness to gain some perspective and humility might go a long way for your program and your fanbase.

Wait, so you think that the Sun Belt made poor decisions with USM, ODU, JMU, and Marshall, yet you think we also should have picked you up? We're not talking an 'elementary dispute.' We're talking about an Athletic Director who blatantly belittled regional programs for no good reason and a fanbase who has done the same since day one. Now that your conference is falling behind, we should suddenly let it go to save you?
Nah. Good luck with whatever you want to call that conference. We'll be just fine while we watch LaTech throw a temper tantrum for not getting its way. Best wishes to FIU, WKU, MTSU, and UTEP, though.
I think La Tech and WKU should have replaced JMU and ODU. Leave JMU in FCS and ODU is a new call up that hasn't been successful, so they wouldn't fight like hell to stay in FBS.
Should of went for a kill shot, instead you were petty, hopefully it doesn't cost you.
I didn't know I hated La Tech until now... are their fans always this arrogant? Aren't La Tech and WKU glorified community colleges?
For last 15-20 years, definitely. I have been Louisiana fan since I was 10, will be 59 in three days.

Things we have learned from realignment. La Tech is arrogant aholes. uLL in turn becomes just as bad by being D..ks. Everybody is still in FBS conferences just now that all are about to become as insignificant as ever before. Did we miss anything. Oh and I forgot there is some video out there about our AD. Has anyone seen it?

I don’t think we should really minimize that video with regards to realignment. That was in direct response to talks that CUSA & the Sun Belt should realign regionally which had support on both sides. Obviously not enough and it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure out who opposed it. Now we dragging riff raff up to FBS like SHSU & JMU. Reap what you sow I guess.

I have no dog in the hunt, but I hadn't even heard of LA Tech until after we had joined the Sun Belt and my first exposure was LA Tech fans coming onto the Sun Belt board and telling us how great they were and how they were the most popular G5 School, all I am saying is that any pain they are feeling by behing left behind is from their own doing, they have made their bed.

Wait...if you're so convinced that Liberty and Missouri State are going to jump every Sun Belt school in the next realignment then shouldn't you be happy that the Sun Belt passed La Tech over? Clearly CUSA is going to be such a superior conference with the addition of Jacksonville State, Liberty, New Mexico State, and Sam Houston State.
*Did I miss something? Why are you bragging about Missouri State? Are they joining CUSA? I haven't seen anything about them.

No, Missouri State is not joining CUSA. As a matter of fact, they turned down CUSA's offer to join.

There's irony in Tech fans now celebrating teams joining CUSA that they derided us for considering years ago. I think CUSA will be okay, but this won't be a quick rebuild. They'll need to focus on basketball considerably for the time being and let that be their rallying cry.

I think it boils down to 'what comes around goes around'.
Don't make the same mistake La Tech did. Don't discuss La Tech - or CUSA - and it will be better. Just walk on past them.
