RE: WBB Scores/News of MAC Teams and UT Opponents, 2021-22
Eastern Illinois 87 NIU 81

WMU 68 Indiana St 67
47 total turnovers in the game

Miami 81 Evansville 73

Ohio 98 Richmond 89
Ohio was up by as much as 16 in Q2, but Richmond came back and led by as many as 5 late in the 4th, but OU made a late surge to pull away. Difference was FTs, OU 32-39, Richmond 16-19. OU again played essentially 6.5 players. The 0.5 was 11 minutes for Ella Pope whose only stat was 1 rebound.

RE: WBB Scores/News of MAC Teams and UT Opponents, 2021-22
BG 69 winless Valpo 53
Valpo is now 0-3 vs the MAC (Miami, CMU and now BG). BG outrebounded them 42-22, and BG has not been a good rebounding team of late. I.e. Valpo is not very good.

Buffalo 69 Rhode Island 55
Rhode Island is 7-3 on a not so difficult schedule, but they beat Harvard by 24 - the same Harvard that beat NIU badly.

Michigan 93 Akron 54
Michigan is 8-1, but they hadn't beaten anyone else this badly. +24 over CMU and only +11 over Oakland. Jordan Dawson only scored 2 for Akron, and the rebounding story again ... 35-17 in favor of Michigan.

RE: WBB Scores/News of MAC Teams and UT Opponents, 2021-22
Oakland 79 CMU 58. Wow.

Recall, UT beat Oakland 84-72 in the 1st game of the year. Kahlajiah Dean scored 34 for Oakland.
CMU shot 12% from three (3-25) and that was after missing something like their 1st 17 attempts. Starters were 0-13. Coming into the game, CMU was 329th in the country in 3FG% at 22.1%. Why am I worried that CMU is going to miraculously shoot 18-20 from three when UT plays them in January.

RE: WBB Scores/News of MAC Teams and UT Opponents, 2021-22
Good night for the MAC.

Kent 71 Duquesne 66
Duquesne, after coming back from down big, missed 3 layups in the last 2 minutes when they could have taken the lead. Some teams seem to have more luck than others I guess.

Buffalo 62 VCU 60
Buffalo hits a buzzer beater, after VCU hit a three to tie with 2 seconds left.

Ball St 73 IUPUI 67
BSU was up by 20 in the 1st half, and IUPUI came all the way back but couldn't finish. Recall IUPUI beat BG big, although they have had COVID issues recently so probably not practicing much and could be rusty.

WMU 58 Detroit 51
WMU wins despite 25 turnovers.

Three very nice wins. (Detroit is awful.) IUPUI had won three straight since its two COVID forfeits.

Wright St still having COVID issues, and cancelled their game with Abilene Christian scheduled for Sunday. Theoretically they are scheduled to play Lake Erie next week.

What the heck is it with the Horizon League and COVID. Let's hope it stays out of the MAC.

EMU 66 Binghamton 62
Binghamton had a chance to tie/take the lead with under a minute left, after being down double digits. EMU shot 12% from three, 54% from the line.

Rockets' next game is at SIU Edwardsville, and a tornado hit Edwardsville, IL today, collapsing an Amazon warehouse and killing two. Looks like the warehouse was a stone's throw from campus. Sad.

It's amazing how quickly and completely CMU's program fell apart after Guevara left. Osterle did OK with Guevara's players, but apparently she hasn't recruited successfully.

Akron's game today against Cleveland State has been postponed due to COVID issues with CSU. Another Horizon league team that has had COVID issues. That's at least 4 by my count - IUPUI, Wright State, PFW and CSU. Seems bizarre for so many teams in one league to have issues while the teams in other leagues but in the same locales seem to be ok.

RE: WBB Scores/News of MAC Teams and UT Opponents, 2021-22
BG 100 Notre Dame 48 ... uh, no, not that Notre Dame - DII Notre Dame College outside Cleveland.
Although NDC is 6-4 they have already lost twice to Slippery Rock, who Akron beat earlier this year by 43. So, didn't really learn anything from this one, except we have the MAC scheduling another non-DI opponent.

Drake 96 NIU 44
Drake is a good team that has played a brutal schedule, but, wow. NIU did not score in the 4th quarter, and only scored 9 in the 2nd half. They shot 24% for the game.

Miami 80 Eastern Kentucky 62

and yesterday:
Kent 89 DII Clarion 43
Another non-DI opponent, who is 2-5 and has been blown out by some DII teams. Casey Santoro had a triple double, which is impressive for a 5'0 player, but then again, she played 30 minutes in a blowout win against a completely over-matched opponent. Looks like Modkins did not play for Kent. Kent's entire team is shooting lights out from three. As long as they keep doing that, they can beat anybody. If the threes stop falling, it will be interesting to see if they can adjust. Unfortunate for UT to get them as their 1st MAC opponent.

Could it be there isn't as much talent around the MAC this year? From your reviews it would seem that there could be at least six teams which will major struggles.

RE: WBB Scores/News of MAC Teams and UT Opponents, 2021-22
Crazy wild game in Princeton, NJ tonight as Princeton survives over Buffalo 79-77 in OT.

Princeton was up by as many as 18 in the 1st half, but Buffalo went on a crazy run and actually turned it around to a 8 point lead midway through the 3rd. Princeton came back to nose ahead and it was back and forth the whole 4th quarter. Princeton kept Buffalo in it late by continuing to make bad fouls, and Buffalo kept Princeton in it by continuing to miss foul shots. Princeton up by 1 with 3 seconds left, makes 1 of 2 FTs. Buffalo ends up with the ball under the basket with 1.5 seconds left down 2, and Princeton fouls on the inbounds pass. Doh. UB makes both FTs to force OT. In the mean time, 3 of Princeton's starters have fouled out, and they had basically only played 6 before the DQs started, so it looked like UB would run away with it in OT. But on the opening tip of OT, UB Coach Jacks gets called for a Technical. I have never seen that before in my life. She gets called for Ts sometimes, but I can't imagine what she said to get a T, as nothing really controversial seemed to happen on the tip. Princeton quickly gets up by three and managed to hold off UB the rest of the way, by some miracle. Buffalo had one last chance to tie it, but traveled.

Fair had 30 points but it took her 30 shots to do it (11-30 from the floor), and she missed some key FTs in OT. The rest of the team took 29 shots combined, and they basically only played 6 players - 2 others got very minor time.

BTW, Seton Hall beat Princeton 70-60, also @Princeton, so if you believe in such comparisons, that puts UT in good comparison against UB.

Minnesota 99 Ohio 93
UM was only 6-6 coming in, but had played an extremely hard schedule with many undefeated or 1 loss opponents. From the box score, this seemed to be a crazy offensive game. The teams made a combined 35 threes. UM shot 18-29, and OU 17-34. Wow. Seems like you could put most teams in a gym with no one guarding them and they wouldn't shoot that well.
On the other hand, OU literally only played 6 players, and one of them did not score. All starters got more than 35 minutes on the court. Can they keep that kind of thing up for the whole season? Also rebounding again, UM 42, OU 29

Well, here we go with the MAC ...

EMU has cancelled their last 2 OOC games against IUPUI and Michigan. Don't say it's due to COVID, but, why else? I'm thinking there are gonna be a lot of games cancelled again this year. How bad will it be.

DePaul 103 NIU 71
Looks bad, but DePaul has scored 100+ points now in 5 games this season. They took 101 shots in this game, 45 of them from three, and had 60 rebounds. Also, I notice starter Mikayla Brandon has been out for NIU for the past several games - presumably to injury, but I am not sure.
