The original context of this thread was, "since MTSU doesn't want to join with WKU, who else could join with WKU" ... wandering into the premise the the MAC "should have tried" adding MTSU when they did, indeed, try is like the mythical snake that is eating its own tail.

It's a fact UMass would have accepted a Football only invite, which goes to the point of another school. The thread should die and don't care about your mystical snake diversion. UMass would have accepted a football only and never wanted to end the conference affiliation, but also did not want to leave the conference they were founding members. Do realize all sports is strongly preferred and would have saved the men's soccer for the MAC.

Apologies to most of the MAC posters here for getting on my soapbox and spelling it out clearly for BruceMcF. It's insulting and hurts when I wanted so badly to be part of the MAC and knowing we would have accepted, not to respond to BruceMcF makeup sh-t that I inferred the MAC should forces MTSU to join. The only context of MTSU was if they join know UConn and UMass would have been invited to CUSA as football only and the same was possible after the fact to the MAC. So the MAC could expand, but didn't.
