RE: Legion FC and UAB to End Stadium Lease Agreement
It is really hard for me to understand how UAB soccer has fallen so far. It's like the Getman era didn't even exist.
C-USA is a very good soccer league and the American will be too. UAB has great facilities and a great university in terms of recruiting potential. I don't see any reason UAB shouldn't be competing at a top 50 level, maybe even top 25, year in and year out.

Tough to see for this old UAB soccer fan. We climbed so far, finally got nice facilities, and then the bottom dropped out. The UAB soccer ladies seem to be improving but it's hard to see any on the men's side. At some point Ingram will have to make another change.

Inexcusable.

German got lazy the last few years and his replacement was a dud. Doesn’t take long for a bad coach to tank a program

BBVA/PNC always looked like it had a decent crowd on TV as compared to other USL teams that play in larger MLS stadiums and look very empty.

And agreed, UAB Soccer needs to be top 3 in the league not a bottom feeder. Hopefully some changes will happen soon with the move up.

2-12-1 is completely unacceptable. Have to make a change.

West Campus field games when we were good were so much fun. Hoping we can have that experience at PNC someday.

I have so many great memories of that field. I watched many games there before there were metal bleachers or it was even named WCF. UAB wasn't good but we still had a good time pulling for them and giving the opponents grief. All from the adjacent hotel parking lot where you had a great view of the game and a cooler of beer.

Hard to come from more humble beginnings than UAB soccer. So did UAB football but at least this is a football state. Getman did the equivalent of making flowers bloom in the desert. Really hope we can get it back.

I've wanted to go to more men's soccer games but they're just unwatchable. There would be tons of people come out and watch them if they were halfway decent.

RE: Legion FC and UAB to End Stadium Lease Agreement
Don’t like the idea of Legion FC moving to Protective purely for the reason it’s during football season. They will be playing on a football field with football lines. It will look very amateurish on TV and in person. But it will be an hour and half commercial for UAB, since that will be all over the field. That and I like my soccer on natural grass. And like said before, 2500-3000 people in a 5000 seat stadium looks good, 2500-3000 in a 45k seat stadium looks, well, completely empty.

I think attendance will increase for the Legion playing games at Protective.

But the atmosphere won't be as good as playing at The Bank.

You get a bump when it’s a special game at Legion or Protective, when it’s every game attendance will be the same as at BBVA.

Maybe we can hire Tata to coach the Blazers! He'd probably do ok in the NCAA ranks.

Gonna need a bigger venue if we ever want the Legion in consideration for moving up to the MSL. Speaking of which, they lost to Tampa yesterday 1 - nil ending their impressive playoff run and record at 18-6-8.

Their only playoff win this year was by forfeit. They didn't even try to score in the closing seconds last night. MVO should have come out of the box or something. That was a disappointing end to a great season.

The game last night ended in a flurry of yellow cards. Seems like there were 5 in the last 10 minutes. Guys couldn’t get a sustained attack going to get anything under control in the box. And the TBR keep was not playing well at the end.

That is the worst officiating crew in USL in my opinion. I'm not sure how they got a playoff game. They've been awful all year.

USA's soccer team has really improved btw. Ya'll have some good coaches down there. Very impressive program when a recruit visits. South Alabama is a rising power in women's college soccer.
