I thought stAte made his buyout so ludicrous that he was boxed in anyways? Certainly Anderson knew what he was getting into.

Don't know the details for sure but seems like it dropped significantly annually such that by year 4 it would have been no big deal.

So talent evaluation was Anderson's issue? Or player development? It seems like he tried the HS route at first and then went transfer to plug holes, but when you go transfer and miss on your HS guys new leaks continue to pop up.

Blake obviously brought a ton of all conference players in, many as transfers with 3 years to play/blue shirts. I think as time went on his staff got worse and worse and recruiting dropped off for whatever reason. Ironically, the last NFL draft pick was recruited by Steve Roberts, who hired and was replaced by Freeze.

But Blake never got to 85 scholarships - was resourceful in brining in talent - just didn't recruit HS as well, especially in the trenches.
