I hope that keeps their fire to pour it on.
What's the story? I am not familiar with this 1.
After the 2016 App @ Tennessee game where App took them to OT (and if smarter would have won the game in regulation) Butch walked to the team during the after-game on-field meeting/prayer and started telling them how proud they should be because they almost did it.
Insulting to the max.
No offense to the great ArkSt posters here, but I hope App puts up 84 on them and hold them to an attempted FG.

Butch Jones was very gracious after that game. He was incredibly complimentary as was James Franklin in 2018, and Mack Brown in 2019.
Why you all get so wrapped up in his comments is something I don't understand. He wasn't belittling anyone, chiding anyone, or acting as if Tennessee just had a bad game. He came from the G5, he knew the game for us and was genuinely impressed.

Butch did a show for the ESPN cameras and the UT media. Franklin and Mack congratulated App away from the cameras. Lloyd Carr called the App football offices on Sunday in 2007 like a class act would.
I know for a fact that App players felt disrespected by this.

That's right, they talked about it on BGP. I was thinking you were talking about Arky State in 16.

Would you want some goober to come into your huddle after you were literally inches away on a freak play from beating Tennessee when they were pretty good, to tell you how you are champions of life and you surprised him with how good you are?
I wouldn't. And I am self-aware enough that I would never do it to another team if I was in his position.

Man, SP+ has been right on the spread a lot this year. And I'm pretty sure its ATS picks are like 60 percent right now, but his line on this one is like half a point from Vegas.

Wouldn't bother me. Not sure why everyone is so bothered by it. Could've chosen another time I guess but, seriously, it's not that big of a deal. He didn't do it to be a jerk, I imagine everyone knew that at the time.

He didn’t do it because he was trying to be a jerk. He did it because s a jerk.
