McMurphy just tweeted they got invites. Wouldn’t have invited NMSU and Sam if they weren’t joining.

Agreed. I am just more interested in the conversation and what is said.

Mario is a pretty straight shooter and will be curious what he leans into as it relates to the evolving situation with CUSA

I would think the meeting would shed some light on a lot of things, no? Entrance fees, CFP distributions, other potential members joining, etc. Who knows what will be discussed?

Will anyone be able to watch or do you need a NMSU email address?

NMSU and Sam Houston won't leave until July 2023 so we'll still be part of the WAC for the next two winter and spring seasons.

I think anyone can attend. I've attend one before and I don't have an NMSU email account.

Interesting. Why not join after this spring sports season?

We haven't accepted an invite yet and no announcement has been made about accepting. How could anyone (consider the source) know when we would join?

It looks like every change date is linked to the Big 12 only accepting schools on Jul 1st, 2023. All the downstream moves are based on that. Space doesn't open up for anyone before that, the old schools will still be in CUSA.

I confirmed with the NMSU FB beat writer that the meeting is open to the public.

Gives everyone ample time to make scheduling adjustments. Not necessarily because of the Big 12 moves.

Because all the CUSA teams are leaving in July 2023.

Really Onate? We ARE going to accept the invite. Then all the schools leaving CUSA aren't leaving until July 2023. How about do your research.

The CAA has announced that JMU will not be eligible for any conference championships since they announced their intention to join the Sunbelt. Seems pretty petty, hopefully the WAC doesn’t have the same rules in their bylaws.

That’s the way it’s always been for the CAA. Not specific to JMU. I don’t think any other conference has that issue.

If true, this is interesting. The less powerful conference (CAA in this case) is using what little leverage they have to cause some heartache for a school who plans to leave. This is a good move in my opinion. Conferences should make it as painful as possible for teams who get poached by more powerful conferences. Petty, I do not think so. Smart might be a better word.
