Total formality. The meeting lasted about 15 minutes. A 5-6 page presentation was given that showed where NMSU ranked with the other CUSA schools in FB budget (6th), FB attendance (3rd), BB budget (3rd), BB attendance (1st) and over all athletic budget (4th). It was interesting that MTSU and WKU were on the slides. Makes sense as they are still members. Liberty, Jax St and SHSU were also on the slides.

Congratulations to NMSU! Your days of wandering in the football independence desert are finally over. Good luck in CUSA and I hope you continue to play Hawaii as a non-conference opponent in the years ahead.

Congrats to the Aggies. You will be missed in the WAC. I do hope this works out for you. I have my doubts, but at least you get to go to Miami now! 04-cheers

Two years gives CUSA time to review and vet other members

I still wish that both NMSU and SHSU would stick around and make the WAC a better conference but also wish them both the best.

Good luck and best wishes to our Aggie friends -- wish we had a lot more time to get to know each other in all aspects. As previously mentioned, I have respect for NMSU.

Congrats to the Aggies and Kats!!!!!! Wishing both of you nothing but the best.

So if I want to see Tarleton vs NMSU in mens basketball, I need to go in January. Looks like a fun road trip.

NMSU football budget is $9.2 million, UTEP is just a little bit more, yet they're 6-2, and playing a huge game on ESPN2 tomorrow, and NMSU is 1-7. I look forward to finding a new coach for next season.

Supposedly NMSU will be an official member of CUSA after July 1st, 2023. So, NMSU still has two more basketball seasons in the WAC; this season and next. Tarleton should get a return home game against NMSU next season.

CONGRATS to NMSU . . so happy that you will once again be a member of an FBS Football league. I enjoyed playing you guys when you were in the SBC. A-State and NMSU had some good games. Best of luck to the Aggies !!

If true, this is interesting. The less powerful conference (CAA in this case) is using what little leverage they have to cause some heartache for a school who plans to leave. This is a good move in my opinion. Conferences should make it as painful as possible for teams who get poached by more powerful conferences. Petty, I do not think so. Smart might be a better word.
not only has the CAA always voted to do this but JMU has always voted with them when others left so there is that.
