TXST has a suite in a caboose called the Bobcat Express. Any other unique features at other stadiums?

I've been told that the likelihood of them building new is very good. And the renderings should be delivered soon by Populous. Would expect an update from ODU to the public in the December/January time frame.

If they do build new, the team would play at Harbor Park in Downtown Norfolk while it's being constructed.

Good news. Building new is easier.

We don't claim this person. "Southern Miss" or "USM" are what we are called.

We have the stadium and hitting facility and just rebuilt the clubhouse (doubling the space). But as far as unique features we have a deck in left field at the foul line named Kit's Corner (after former coach Steve Kittrell) that is only open to former USA baseball players. We also have a couple of outfield decks that are in high demand and season tickets seem to go pretty quickly for them.

1. Geography. The Gulf Coast and Texas teams have a lot of solid programs in their area and have great midweek schedules. Georgia Southern tries their best, but can only do so much. The rest are hampered by their geography.

2. Your league is only going to be as good as the bottom. There are some schools that don't invest nearly enough money in their programs. Their facilities are poor to fair and I personally don't think their administration cares that much. As a result, playing those schools really can hurt your RPI especially if they jump up and bite you at your place (They still have decent players on scholarship, after all.)

Some of the schools here (and I guarantee UL, USM are two of them and maybe South as well) generate more money for baseball than they do for men's basketball.

That is probably true. We don't invest anything into basketball.

We are actively investing in a $15-20 million renovation of the coliseum. But it has been neglected severely pretty much since it was built in 1965.

USM has 2 unique features IMO...one is known as the Right Field Roost where there's around 40 or so parking spots on a hillside going down the right field line and extending around to right center field. No clue on what it cost a spot but an Eagle Club membership of at least $1000 and 4 season tickets are required. There's been a waiting list for as long as i can remember for people to get one of those spots. Not the best pic but here's a distant shot of it from our pressbox
https://southernmiss.com/images/2018/7/1...4_1200.jpg

The other feature was added 2 years ago where they took out part of the home bullpen and added a seating area with 12 tables ($2500 a table) which has 4 chairback seats per table

There's also 12 suites in the grandstand seating area which has 14 seats per suite and just like the Right Field Roost spots those 12 suites have been sold out since day 1..here's a photo...there's 8 suites on the bottom row, 4 on the top left with the top middle being press box, tv booth and radio booths

USM has some great money making ideas for their stadium. Awesome to have that level of support at that price point.

In the same vein, an underrated feature of the Pete is the concrete seating area down the right field line unofficially known as the 12 Oz Lounge (because as students we used to sneak coolers through the fence and bring beers into the stadium, if you sat there security didn’t bother you). It was a phenomenal place to watch us clinch the Championship at home and to heckle opposing bullpens.

The Right Field Roost, where we literally tailgate before, during and after games. If you come out, you will be treated right.

[Image: Pete-Taylor-Park-View-looking-towards-The-Roost.png]

And here is the view from out there. Look behind the 3b stands, which you will notice don't have any suites (there are four below the press box and eight on the 1b side). You can see the apartment complex which is built just outside that side of the stands. The park was built on available land in 1984 and the apartments affected the evolution. There used to be an active railroad track behind the outfield so we'd have trains go through, which was cool. Now it's been converted to rails-to-trails called Longleaf Trace which runs northwest of Hattiesburg for over 40 miles.

We don't routinely go by Southern. That's just what I happened to write, and it's not confusing seeing as how no other Southern will be in the Sun Belt this year.

That said, I'm not sure if that guy knows what he's in for if he's going to pop off on Georgia Southern fans for no good reason. We will climb a mountain just to fight our own echo.

We're working on it... At least, some of us are.

That is cool 03-cool. I am a Rail fan and into trains. Is that caboose a real one? or a prop wooden makeshift?

I am not sure how many conf brethren have it but our rally alley, a good place to hang out during the game.

That is awesome. Would they let opposing fans check it out or is it exclusively set aside for the Donor/corporate sponsor that pays for it?

Not sure. It was installed in 2012 and he was the one that used it. Haven't heard if that is still the case or if others can use access it. There is no info about it on our ticketing site but then again there really isn't for the other suites either.
