Quick someone check to see if we can remove the top off of the rims

Aum up 17-15.

We look like a team with a lot of new faces. Lots of experience, but no one is showing the willingness to take over a game.

To their credit, AUM is defending every shot and mostly without fouling. They are doing a really good job crashing the boards as well.

Halftime uab 34, Aum 29.

Defense finally decided to kind of show up.

UAB went 8-39 from the field for 20.5%. 1-10 from 3pts. Pretty much the opposite of what I was hoping to see.

We knew what we were getting with adding volume shooters. Biggest issue is the missed shots down low.

Totally forgot about the Boozer bros at AUM

First half stats were horrible. Glad Im not watching it live.

Justin Brown 4-6 from 3 pts now. 16 pts in 13 minutes so far in his UAB debut.

It actually wasn’t that bad to watch in a train wreck sort of way. We missed so many layups it was sort of comical.

UAB 101 AUM 70 Final. UAB scores 67 in the second half and finishes the game shooting 40% from 3 led by Justin Brown's 5-7 effort.

Nice 2nd half blazers. Had you told me at halftime we were going to score over 100 points I’d have thought you were crazy.

My dad and I were just saying the same thing. Granted we left with 12 minutes left to get home at a decent time… holy smokes. Anyone know the record for points in a half by a blazer squad?

Also, anyone know if they’ll post a box score this game? Seems like I missed the peak.

As coach noted, hard to take much away from this type game given the number and amount of substitutions. We have a deep bench, but certainly we will likely fall into some sort of rotation.

Having said that, holy heck that’s some kind of 2nd half of basketball. I think coach has a lot that he can work on based on this game. That’s what you want. Little value in just coming out and spanking the other team from beginning to end.

Did we press most of the game? I know it’s an exhibition but giving up 70 to a lower level opponent like that isn’t ideal.

Yep, lots of full court traps. Stayed in press all game. Forced a handful of 5 sec counts on inbound plays. Gave em a good bit of offensive rebounds early. Had we made shots down low early, the point differential would’ve been stretched further. Forcing shots in traffic.

2nd half was great.
