That’s one FCS call up I could live with. Don’t know if Delaware has any interest in moving up.

Very possible Delaware is going to the MAC if UMASS is taking all sports there.

UMass leaving the A-10 for the MAC doesn’t make any sense. Football only? Absolutely. But the MAC gave UMass an ultimatum a few years ago of all sports or get out and I doubt it hasn’t changed since then.

Didn't help them much when they were in the AAC. UConn is in a tough position, and joining CUSA could help both institutions, so that's a good idea. But I'm not sure it really does much to make UConn a decent football school/program. Problem is they don't help CUSA with the 8 full members stuff. Liberty and NMSU does of course, but UConn can't replace the need for an 8th member, at least that's my understanding.

That's true. 8 full members are needed but UConn does have a name that brings attention and maybe a few ooc mbb games come our way. It also helps scheduling issues when we have a couple of transitioning fcs schools.

I'd be happy to see these adds. It doesn't bother me one bit all the hate from others because well, they ain't the schitz either. We'll see what happens after this, hopefully they'll go north to the Dakotas too.

Would be interesting to explore. If the league adds enough northeast-based teams as all-sport members like Delaware, Stony Brook, or New Hampshire even--all strong budget schools with strong hoops--could it be a way to pull an increasingly discontent Temple out of the AAC?

Another reason Marshall might hold tight.

Keep in mind that was before the "expanded playoff" scenario became a work in progress. If these independents want to have a chance at getting in a college football playoff, they have to enter a league. With the exception of Notre Dame of course.

Both are good in basketball. I've been working at NDSU for 8 years. It seems like we've gone to the dance 4 of those years. We've had a couple wins at the tourney as well, including against a highly ranked Oklahoma team. And as much success as we've had in basketball, I think SDSU on balance is even a stronger in basketball than we are. Both have 5,000-6,000 seat arenas and strong basketball fanbases.

Dang, if we do get them does it mean that we won't be playing at the super duper deliciously great Ootsa basketball arena or Rice's for that matter? Rats!

I hope not. They need to go. You can’t keep a school that’s constantly voicing its displeasure in being in this conference. Good luck and good riddance!

Well, the cartel will make sure the G5’s don’t see any of that. They’ve always done it and what makes you think anything will change in an extended CFP. It’ll be for the P5 to enjoy.

The only independent that had any chance since the cartel created the BCS is Notre Dame.

If the league adds Temple, the AAC could turn around and add Marshall, but it would be hard for them to go there if they already committed to go to the Suck Belt.

If they're adding UConn I garuntee UMass isn't far behind. Also based on earlier rumors they could also add Tarleton State to help strengthen the Westen Wing and then it's a guess of what FCS schools are available:

Missouri State, Delaware, Jacksonville State, SHSU, NDSU + SDSU

Jacksonville State is about 720 miles to FIU. That is quite a haul.

MTSU and WKU would need to be travel partners in the same division, plus this wouldn't balance the divisions in basketball and other sports.

Hopefully WKU has the jet ready for true CUSA. All the exit money will be spent on travel all over the USA..I like this over 6 FCs TexS schools but still not the fit for WKU regardless of zero options at moment..TV Deal still going to be FloSports/AggieVision..

Especially since the last time they played in El Paso was in 2009. But they made it sound like it was every year they had to make the trip out West. Think about it, 2009. Nebraska, Texas A&M and Colorado were still in the Big XII; Utah, TCU and BYU in the MWC; Maryland in the ACC and Rutgers, West Virginia, Pitt, Syracuse, UConn and Louisville in the Big East. But El Paso is too far!!!!! 03-weeping

Add the CFP money especially if we stay at 8 or 9. That’s about $2 million for each school.

So CUSA said no to Liberty… effectively running off ODU, Marshall and JMU. And then decides to bring them in? That doesn’t make any sense. You’d have the other three teams if you had said yes to begin with.
