It's near Hwy 90/I-49 South, the entrance to the airport is off of Surrey St.

RE: Airports
Boone International is only 3 miles from App's campus with a 2,100 foot runway. That's 7x the average length of an aircraft carrier runway! New arresting wires are being installed to assist with landings.

For those who don't enjoy whiplash, you'll be diverted to the Tri-cities, G'boro or Charlotte. As we have heard in the past from our 49er frens and former UL Coach Hudspeth, you'll need to load up your horse drawn covered wagons and embark on a week long Oregon Trail type adventure to the High Country as you navigate century old goat trails. Make sure you have plenty of supplies and be careful when crossing rivers. There is a high probability that at least one person from your party will die of dysentery but the tailgate will be worth it! 04-cheers

It's actually off of US Hwy 90 (Evangeline Thruway). It's the only airport handling commercial air traffic in the Lafayette area. The other closest airports with commercial traffic are located in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lake Charles and Alexandria.

Just had a flashback to my sportswriter days when I covered a game at Mars Hill. Two lanes, steep grade and 18-wheelers coming up on and toward me from the Tennessee/NC line to the turnoff for Banner Elk. At night. Probably aged six years.

RE: Airports
If you want to come to Monroe but you don’t want to pay for an overpriced flight to MLU, Dallas and New Orleans are less than 5 hours away by car. Closer than that there’s also Shreveport, Jackson, and Little Rock that all have larger airports than Monroe Regional.
