It’s absolutely probable that happened. I mentioned this in another thread. Doubtful we actually campaigned really hard for them though. It was a likely a Yes vote, but we are in the ears of Troy, USA, stAte, Tx St behind the scenes to vote No, and then in the ears of the other 4 in the East to push for 3 Eastern teams. Lol

Yeah, and only agreed to vote for them after we were secured enough votes to scuttle them.

La Tech - I'm sure stAte would have the common sense to play you home/home in all sports even though you've always been complete dickheads . . . you know our number.

ULM I would assume would definitely want Tech it for sure energizes some of the old guard. ULL I would guess as well would at least prefer that game to ODU etc

Tech, hold on there.. There is hope for you.. It’s not in the Sun Belt, however, I can see C-USA adding some quality teams that can help you sustain for a while…. Suppose you end up with 3 teams, you add the following: Liberty, UMass, Chattanooga, New Mexico St, Missouri St. With La Tech, FIU, and UTEP, that is eight football, then add Little Rock and UTA and you have 10 in all sports.. Or go independent, I believe there will be another shake-up in a couple years…

WKY and MTSU both could stay and you would be where the Sun Belt was 10 years ago with a smaller conference with nice FCS call ups..

It’s not comparable. The SBC recruited legit historic FCS powerhouses with plenty of potential. JMU would fit the description but joining SBC now. I don’t see another regional FCS program at this level.

Yes, I would think we would agree as well.

But I can also with 100% certainty say that that would only be after the laturd admin agreed to give up their petty and childish ‘shenanigans’ with calling us every name we don’t want, making fun of our accents, etc., when playing in ruston. Otherwise OUR admin would face a huge revolt from its fans.

And I also think it should be a 2-1 arrangement favoring UL and ULM. Thy need us in the worst way, so we need to make sure we use that to our full advantage.

NDSU is the other but obviously are not in the Belt footprint

I would rather stop at 14 now, it allows for more flexibility in the future. Assuming AAC loses more teams to the B12 (Memphis, SMU, Navy), we could go after ECU and Tulane (LA Tech would be the backup choice).

Certainly would make sense as all three schools part of the same ULS system. Just can’t see 3 Louisiana schools in the SBC.

Yeah for sure. I do think them joining the SBC last week would have been them for sure having to swallow a lot of pride. Just having to play in laffy and Monroe year one would be enough embarrassment for them. I would even be down with having them to laffy twice in a row to start like LSU had to for the Hurricane game vs Florida even if it means we get shafted a little and only got them at home for game one. It was something they claimed they would never do again so it's enough of a win for me tbh.


I will say that I do sincerely hope that it was them that didn't want in and the conference didn't reject them out of anger. I think the best thing about this conference currently is that we have streamed head first into rivalries as others have done away with them. Like em or not they are a perfect foil for us you guys and ark state while already having a rivalry with southern miss.


It is also why I'm so excited for USM and Marshall. USM will be a great rival for the Cajuns and USA in particular while Marshall vs GA Southern and App was at one time THE game in the southern FCS for a while very excited for that

Sorry to add to that. If we add Tech say in a month that's when I would not want to do it as they would obviously be here for the wrong reasons and be looking to screw as much stuff up as possible for everyone else to get their way.
