I wonder if there will be any push to move the conference HQ. With new additions, the center of the conference has probably shifted some. Looking at the map, I would estimate Birmingham or Huntsville would be about as close as you could be to picking a center. SEC is headquartered in Birmingham, so I would say Huntsville. Huntsville is growing and surpassed Birmingham as the largest city in the state, but Birmingham metro is still much larger. This past go round, I thought Huntsville would have been a nice location for the conference basketball tournament.

Both the Big 12 and the AAC headquarters are in the Dallas area. It might be cool to have the SunBelt HQ near the SEC in B'ham.

The real reason is that the panhandle is really part of Alabama. All you have to do is ask any southern redneck where lower Alabama is located and they will tell you the panhandle of Florida.

When you are P6 you can claim states, even if there are multiple lowly G4 schools in that state.

That’s about as good as it gets. Positioned perfectly. I think Atlanta may need to home base though. With strong programs committed and this location with this lineup with strong media we can flat out get after it and keep making quick meaningful progress. This group needs to stay together. Only the SEC has a footprint as productive.

Southern Miss and App State are the big winners here.

Southern Miss adds 4 games against opponents less than 3/4 hours away.
App State went from having 2 games in a 4/5 hours radius. To now having 5 games.

Beautiful geography.
I’d say put yalls HQ in Atlanta but Georgia State seems more like an AAC team than SBC team.
