Conference Games with 1.00 million + viewers
Since 2013 season the AAC has had 33 conference games with over 1 million viewers. I excluded games with UConn,Rutgers or Louisville.

Temple turns out viewership when they’re actually performing well.

If you did add 2013 when UL was a conf member of the AAC, the UCF at UL game on ESPN that Friday Night drew 2.2 Million viewers.

NOTE: A UCF conf game vs lowly Rutgers later that season on a Thursday Night on ESPN drew 972,000 viewers, just below 1 Million.

There were a few also like that but I did not include them for the reasons I stated at the top.
Temple vs USF (2017) 992k ESPN
UCF vs ECU ( 2020) 998k ABC
Louisville vs UConn in 2013 was over 1 million

RE: Conference Games with 1.00 million + viewers
Not everyone was in this conference in 2013.

Taking out the 4 games listed from before 2015 and the numbers close up with little seperation.

Consistently top teams, few or no down years
UCF 10
UC 9
Memphis 9

Middle group, mostly up some down
Houston 7
USF 6
Temple 5

Variable, reflects some good and some bad years, inconsistency is the name of the game
Navy 3
Tulsa 3
SMU 2
Tulane 2

ECU 0 ~ product of a prolonged down period with no ups.

This reflects SLH analysis that it's less than 40% of value leaving, which makes me curious as to the actual pay outs the three leaving will get. It looks like it will be a Maryland/Rutgers deal if you go strictly on math

Three leaving =28 1m games
Top three remaining =20 1m games

Bottom 5 =10m

6 games are between the leaving teams exclusively.
7 games are between the remaining schools exclusively
21 are combination games with USF/Memphis dominating it for those left

How about a poor academic profile, no on campus stadium for football or basketball and a history of cheating in basketball?

FedEX Forum is not on campus . However which AAC school has a superior venue ? I guess Memphis cheated . Too bad they don't run a clean program like Kentucky , North Carolina , Duke , Kansas , Arizona or LSU .

Navy's count in intraconference games also reflects that half their intraconference games are on non-Nielsen rated CBSSN. Last year saw the first time the Mouse got a NMCMS game (Tulsa-Navy got on ESPN2 and 424k viewers. Cincinnati at Navy will be on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 23 October). 37.5% of Navy's intraconference games never get counted, even moving forward.

Consider how many of these are Conference Championship games and how many are just over-the-air tv.

Anyone with an antenna picks up abc and most basic cable packages get ESPN. Hell probably half a million sports bars and homes just have one or the other on in the background.

I do think a lack of investment in on-campus facilities hurt Memphis. I hope they make the investment before the next round of realignment occurs. I'd love to have you guys as conference mates in the B12.

I was thinking about that. I would guess that would add another game to this list for you overall, maybe two with Navy having some solid home conference games (Tulsa in 2015 comes to mind) in your best performing years that were on CBSsports.

That 4.7 at the top is the highest rated G5vsG5 game ever. (Including Boise)

That 4.7 is why the Big 12 will be interested in USF.

A strong USF along with a strong UCF is valuable.

Navy's count in intraconference games also reflects that half their intraconference games are on non-Nielsen rated CBSSN. Last year saw the first time the Mouse got a NMCMS game (Tulsa-Navy got on ESPN2 and 424k viewers. Cincinnati at Navy will be on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 23 October). 37.5% of Navy's intraconference games never get counted, even moving forward.

I was thinking about that. I would guess that would add another game to this list for you overall, maybe two with Navy having some solid home conference games (Tulsa in 2015 comes to mind) in your best performing years that were on CBSsports.

Yeah - I wasn't trying to say it would leap up there. Houston at Navy in '16 (after the Coogs had beaten Oklahoma and were #5/#6 in polls) another possibility. Beat then-#25 SMU at home late in the year in our 11-2 2019 season. Those are all hypotheticals, I was making an observation on the exclusion of games regardless of W/L performance.

RE: Conference Games with 1.00 million + viewers
Crazy how bad administration decisions will kill a program's viability to the outside world. 2015 and before we were at the top of the conference in attendance, but we still do pretty well there.

Our TV viewership was good as anyone's in the league for example we beat Va Tech in 2014 while 2.6M viewers watched.

We just need to get football fixed and which we are then the eyeballs will return. Just terrible timing for the board of governors and administration to make some horrible personnel decisions.

We'll be back and I hope all the associate partners remember how much our association has helped them in the past. Probably not, but it's all good because I like the AAC and sticking to the Eastern Seaboard going to games. Go AAC!!
