For presenting facts? I guess welcome to 2021 Cancel Culture, people say things you don't agree with you want them cancelled out. I was not the one that brought up ISU, I have just defended them from the NIU folks
What facts?
You already made accusations about NIU campus crime, which has gone down. Ill St. campus had more rape and burglary victims than NIU campus the last three years.
NIU
2018: Rape - 13 | Aggravated Assault: 6 | Burglary: 8
2019: Rape - 10 | Aggravated Assault: 4 | Burglary: 5
2020: Rape - 4 | Aggravated Assault: 4 | Burglary: 3
https://issuu.com/northernillinoisuniver...jMwNzg2NzA
2019:
Ill St
2018: Rape - 12 | Aggravated Assault: 2 | Burglary: 11
2019: Rape - 15 | Aggravated Assault: 3 | Burglary: 7
2020: Rape - 8 | Aggravated Assault: 1 | Burglary: 5
https://security.illinoisstate.edu/downl...RFINAL.pdf
Then you make up accusations about the NIU student population being marginal students from CPS. Yet the incoming freshmen class had a cumulative 3.34 GPA.
Then you try to say you attended SF games and NIU only had 10% fans. Yet I went to both games and that was not the case.
ISU also has a lot more people on campus, especially during the weekends.
If you want to think NIU doesn't have a negative image to high school students and their families, that is fine with me, but its also not reality. Why do you think enrollment has declined 40% at NIU but increased 10% at ISU over the last several years? Why do you think ISU enrolled over 1000 more freshmen this school year?
And I stand by my comment that NIU has been admitting more CPS students to make up for enrollment losses.
And the negative image is only perpetuated with opinions from people like you even without actual facts. Here are the facts - Ill St has more serious campus crime than NIU campus. NIU's incoming freshmen class had a 3.34 GPA and we accept students from Chicago and surrounding suburbs. This has always been NIU's primary student makeup.

A big no thanks to ISU. They would not add additional market of significance, and the State of Illinois operates just fine with 3 FBS schools.

Which is why you don't understand how things work.. Way back NIU was the school with 21K students undergrads, now they have 12K with a shrinking athletic budget and fanbase. While ISU raised $180 million, NIU is making athletic cuts and some of their programs could be in jeopardy.
But you are correct, this is not a topic for this board, ISU is happy with the MVC and the MAC isn't sure if they want to expand and it appears that WKU is the only school interested in joining anyway.

Which is where we disagree, Illinois is plenty big enough for 4 or 5 FBS schools when compared to bordering states and population. To have the State school be FCS while one of the directionals is FBS doesn't make sense to many people I come in contact with.

Wow, OK, seems like we don't all "come in contact" with as many ISU nerd-psycho-mega-homers as you do. Have a great week. Enjoy your down-state media market which adds nothing to the MAC TV/ESPN package.

This is what happens when you don’t have any mods. You get this BS. Maybe someone can step in and set new mods for this board.

No, it's just one person. Every one of his posts on the board would be either:
NIU sucks
or
ISU is wonderful.
Repeat every 30 seconds or so. Gets old fast.

I have no problem with UMass. If we could get WKU and UMass all sports I'd be fine with that. Assuming ESPN would up the money so the MAC schools don't get less per school.
I only have a problem with the ISU guy who can't just post on the board respectfully, like you do.

The fighting Illini can suck it. :)
I think the fact that you can, for all practical purposes, drink in bars till close in Champaign at only 19 years old has gotten the best of ya. :)

RE: Conference Realignment
Here is a way to help make things happen - All the schools wanting out of CUSA should vote to dissolve the conference and the vote should be 11-3 to dissolve. This eliminates the need for an exit fee. After that is done, give the rights to the name to those three remaking conference schools. Problem solved - seems pretty easy and fair to me.
