Congratulations to Cara Menges for earning a spot on the First Team (for the second year in a row)!

Kudos to Tabby Billingham for earning a spot on the Second Team (for the second year in a row)!

Congrats to Pyper Friedman for being named to the All-Rookie team (but not for the second year in a row)!

Darius Wilson was named CAA Offensive Rookie of the Year.


“ Wilson completed 106-of-177 passes for 1,205 yards and six touchdowns, and also ran for 386 yards and four scores in nine games. The true freshman quarterback set season-highs for passing (198) and rushing (95) yards and accounted for 3 TD’s in a win at Elon on September 25. Wilson is the first Tribe player to be named Offensive Rookie of the Year since 2008.”

DL Nate Lynn was named all CAA first team.

LT Andrew Trainer was named all CAA first team.

RB Bronson Yoder was named all CAA third team.

OT Colby Sorsdal was named all CAA third team.

DL Will Kiely was named all CAA third team.

DB Ryan Poole was named all CAA third team.

Congrats to them all!

First Team Offense: Andrew Trainer, OL
First Team Defense: Nate Lynn, DL

Third Team Offense: Bronson Yoder, RB and Colby Sorsdal, OL

Sorry, did not mean to duplicate your post. At the time I wrote mine the only line in your post was the Wilson line. I have noticed that people can read a post seemingly as it is being written because later there are more sentences in it than were read initially.

The CAA finally passed out some Cross Country awards:

Congratulations to Forest Braden for earning CAA Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year!

Individual awards were mostly based on finishes in the CAA Championships.

Congrats to Jacob Jones, Andrew Lagattuta, Tyler Lipps, Patrick North, Sam Pritchard, and Spencer Tsai on the Men's Team!

Congrats to Kyra Holland on the Women's Team!

Not a CAA award...but the Richmond Touchdown Club has honored Nate Lynn as the Virginia Defensive Lineman of the Year! The awards ceremony will even be on local TV in Richmond. Details here:

Congrats to Nate Lynn who finished 9th in the voting for the Buck Buchanan award (FCS award for best defensive player).

Pretty good for a junior from a non-playoff team on a not-recently-relevant team that many voters may know little about.

12 sacks get you into the conversation though. Remember too that he's a down lineman with these stats. Pius was getting a running start from a two point stance on his edge rushes.

Yes, as I said, pretty good. I know we all expect him to be higher in the voting next year...if he doesn't outright win it.

That Villanova linebacker finished one spot higher in the voting...but W&M handled him.

I also enjoyed meeting his parents,. They walked down to my seats and we chatt for a long time before the game. Also talked to Bob Here never, who sits behind me!
