I honestly think there’s a good chance Marshall and App end up getting invited to the AAC (assuming they lose 4-5 teams to the Big 12.)

You're setting yourself up to look foolish later. Georgia State without question has more upside than Marshall.

Yeah. I’m sure the AAC is drooling over the 1,200 basketball fans you average per game, or the opportunity to play football in an old baseball stadium in front of 15k fans.

Just wanted to comment, that I don't think "AlwaysSunny" is a Georgia State fan.

The 30,837 vs. Troy, 10/20/16 was/is the Sunbelt record for a Sunbelt vs Sunbelt game.

We maybe could fit 30K but it would be a tight standing room only. Paulson seats 25K and we have only gone standing room only twice. Of course we do count actual butts in seats and not tickets sold so there is that...

Top 5 crowds in Statesboro are:
25,735 Sep 17, 2016 vs ULM
25,725 Dec 16, 1989 vs Stephen F. Austin
24,872 Sep 19, 2015 vs Citadel
24,535 Sep 25, 2014 vs App St
24,078 Nov 11, 1989 vs Chattanooga

Troy’s top 10 (in a 30k capacity stadium these are our top-10. 6/10 are from post-realignment). Also the fact we had 27k to watch Troy vs Akron is quite impressive.

1 September 1, 2018 29,612 No. 22 Boise State
2 September 9, 2017 29,278 Alabama State
3 September 15, 2012 29,013 Mississippi State
4 September 23, 2017 27,324 Akron
5 September 14, 2019 27,108 Southern Miss
6 September 9, 2004 26,574 No. 17 Missouri
7 September 28, 2019 26,437 Arkansas State
8 September 2, 2006 26,265 Alabama State
9 September 27, 2003 26,000 Marshall
10 November 12, 2016 25,782 Appalachian State

38k is almost 40k. That’s very respectable! Not many G5 teams can put 38k in the stands.

I will say I’ve always been surprised at you guys not getting bigger crowds for the rich history you have.... but your performance on the field gives you guys a pass. Plus the fact you are consistently 20k+. That more important than having one game with 35k and the rest of the season with 12k.

You responded to the wrong person. I am an ASU fan. We can't do 40k. We do however do over 20k on a regular basis. I believe 32k would be pushing it for us. I don't think our stadium would handle it.

So all I can say is perhaps do a little research before you make a claim about a conferences record. Especially when you are just a visitor of another conf.
And oh yeah, you can apologize now for the sadly mistaken claim you made. Kind of strange you have not done that yet.

Be careful! UL fans get a little miffed from time to time. It's a Cajun thing. 04-cheers

“I also haven’t researched it but I doubt any other team in CUSA or Sun Belt has put almost 40k fans in the stands for a single game, let alone multiple (since the last round of realignment in 2014).”

For that. You were proven wrong.

Marshall acting like they are in a position of strength. I'd like to add them regardless of the ignorance, but they would be joining the Sun Belt. They can go back to MAC or independent if they want.

If they think they are better than the SBC than they can figure out their own way

They come on our board with the App love fest forgetting about the rest of us that built this conference. We may have had a down year last season but stAte is a top team in this conference. Even ULM has knocked off some giants like Alabama.

I don’t think we are better than the sun belt in football.... just better than Ga State and a few others 04-cheers

I think I have shown respect to everyone except Ga State.

Honestly, over all athletic programs, I think Louisiana is the most impressive in terms of fan support, facilities, and success across multiple sports.

If they think they are better than the SBC than they can figure out their own way

They come on our board with the App love fest forgetting about the rest of us that built this conference. We may have had a down year last season but stAte is a top team in this conference. Even ULM has knocked off some giants like Alabama.

I think I have shown respect to everyone except Ga State.

Honestly, over all athletic programs, I think Louisiana is the most impressive in terms of fan support, facilities, and success across multiple sports.

You forgot location, academics and cULture. But flattery and stating the obvious won’t get you much.

Oh yeah, Eve though I’m in a better mood today you still need to acknowledge your incorrect, rather haughty post about attendance.

ESPN has bascially been put on notice by the Big12 to stay out of conference affairs. I suspect there a very direct message to all it's folks is stay clear of any conference discussions. And they should.
