Hopefully Bell and company are turning UMass around from the despair of the 2019. This showed we have a heart beat and worth watching.[Image: E_DJKqmXoAELtgd?format=jpg&name=small]

Why not bring NDSU, SDSU, and Montana? Personally, I believe Montana could go to the Mountain West and have success in two to three years. That place as an FBS School would be fun to watch.

For the time being no FCS, no uMess (FB Only).

We sit, wait, and see who's left after the AAC does their thing. If they destroy conference USA go after what's left where it makes sense. In order, if they would come:
  • Marshall
  • WKU
  • MTSU
  • ODU

Take an even number if three will come and one will not *then* maybe consider a high quality FCS call up that's good in hoops and vball

If the Belt gets wrecked there is not a lot we can pick from them, they and CUSA may fight and some scraps might come up.

But if the MAC is untouched and there are no great opportunities out there just stay pat and keep building what we got.

Inquiry: Hey UMass, want to join the MAC, all sports
Answer: Naaaa

it's been done. UMass football buys the MAC *literally* nothing.

Sources: Boise State and San Diego State are no longer in the AAC discussion. Reports are the conference wants to target UTSA.

https://csnbbs.com/thread-929724-page-14.html

Rumor is that it will be UTSA for the 4th spot in the AAC which will help CSU/AFA with travel for all sports.

West: CSU, AFA, Wichita, Tulsa, SMU, UTSA
East: Memphis, UAB, Tulane, USF, ECU, Temple

AAC (CSU, AFA, UAB, UTSA)
SBC (USM, Marshall, ODU, JMU)

I don't know where this leaves the CUSA/SBC plan.

1. UNT and FAU are on the short list for the AAC if they were to lose Memphis, USF or SMU. They should wait on it.

2. I get a feeling ODU is not going to move to the SBC without JMU and that would require 14 in the SBC to make that happen most likely because what the SBC really wants is the FB power of SoMiss and Marshall.

3. SBC currently doesn't have a Florida presence at all. Does FIU make sense since they aren't on the short list for the AAC?

SBC might then just get SoMiss and FIU. That would leave CUSA at 10 members and stronger than what it was before top to bottom.
