I think this shows the challenge with us wanting to be in the CAA for football vs. basketball. Tale of two conference/sports combinations. If we truly want to be a top hoops team like Huge wanted then we should care a lot more about what happened to Drexel. If we want to continue to be in one of the best football conferences, then maybe not so much.

I think that drawing any conclusions from this season is a mistake. Whatever happens this year should be mostly ignored when trying to determine long-term patterns or develop goals.

Interesting "what if" article.

The national average was 30% higher. This is what happens when you have a weak commissioner that leaves the scheduling decisions up to the individual schools. Lack of expansion. Pathetic TV/streaming deal with Flo. No annual CAA-A10 challenge. No vision. Nothing. We should have left this joke of a conference years ago. A10 would be ideal, but frankly the SoCon or even the Patriot would be preferable to this tire fire of a league. Eventually JMU will leave the CAA for a FBS conference. What is the contingency plan for the CAA when that happens? Get out while we still can.

...or JMU will stare out the window of the CAA bus, mute while the bus picks up speed over the cliff's edge

Interesting "what if" article.

That was an interesting article. The biggest misplacement is obviously Temple which the writer did a credible job highlighting. Sounds much like ODU.

He really didn’t make any meaningful comments about Drexel and the CAA. He made no mention of their ongoing rivalries intact with Delaware, Hofstra and Northeastern.

FWIW I believe that was the first of a 4 part series he is putting out, and he had mentioned to some that the only one that will really touch on Drexel much is the 4th one. So we shall see. With that said, Drexel is and will always be tough to mention and figure out for something like this. We dont fit all that well with very many schools. I do think we fit extremely well with NU, but that is about it. When the reshuffling takes place I think Drexel and Delaware will split due to football
