Why is everyone so high on Saddi Washington? Go Broncos? Does it prove that WMU produces better sports minds than EMU? Based on this board, it appears that people seem to prefer the WMU way.
Gee Bob maybe that's because we are looking for those with some type of coaching experience with Michigan ties ie recruiting locally which we need to improve. There are many more UM ties in potential candidates.
Saddi Washington has an impeccable resume for a MAC HC.
Bob, he was born in Lansing. Educated at WMU. Coached a year at Romulus H.S. then asst coach at Oakland, and then assoc HC at Oakland and then asst coach at UofM.
The only thing I don't see is green, but St. Patrick's Day I'm sure he wears green.
Seriously, he needs to be a HC and EMU would be a good spot.

He doesn't seem remotely interested in taking over a team that was left a total dumpster fire and has no players.

If a guy is only interested in taking over a program that ready to win without even getting his hands dirty then I'm not interested in him.

Wooden... Well said!!
79... Thanks for the reply on the remaining players. I am confused, though as many of those you listed were seniors. Are they able to play again due to Covid extending everyone’s eligibility?

If what Sam and 79 are implying with returning players, the new coach will have a decent roster to deal with his first year (second year will be tough if he is not able to recruit). The front court is stocked with at least MAC-level players (assuming they are coached properly). I still have high hopes for Lowder, Morgan at times is VERY impressive, and Spottsville has many skills. They will lack depth at the 2/3 position (which is easiest to recruit with a late transfer) and lack a true point guard. Let’s get a new coach hired so he can convince these guys to stay.
PG 6-0 Lowder / 6-1 Wells
SG 6-3 Spottsville / ?
SF 6-5 Morgan / ?
PF 6-8 Ballard / 6-10 Binelli
C 7-0 Okongo / 6-11 Love

Yes I agree a true point guard is a must. We haven't really had a true point since Jackson graduated. And we need guys that can actually shoot both the 3 and FT. Assuming the above we have 5 to 6 scholies to give.

Saddi is making a nice piece of change and waiting it out for a plum job, I don't blame him. I'm with you Nickle, we need a coach excited about the job and ready to work.

I love the enthusiasm!
That said, we need to wait and see. The new coach may not invite Okongo, Love, or Spottsville back. And Morgan will have various other options.

Good for Chris. Going back to the West, and betting on himself.
Hopefully he has a monster year and parlays it into a good situation.

We may have a new head coach before the late signing period starts on April 14.
