RE: What will your team do in Vegas?
I think the WAC Tournament will just include the top 12 teams. #13 and #14 will be left home. and the Championship game will probably have to be on a Sunday.

NMSU and GCU, they are the main schools from the WAC that have been cobbling this thing together. I have confidence that NMSU and GCU will help with checking the TX football schools egos. I worry about the schools in the WAC going forward who don't have much influence like Seattle or UVU. I can see TX schools walking allover them.

This a good post to remember when Texas schools and maybe Utah schools start voting as a block.

Yup, the Texas schools could vote (in the future) to have the WAC tournament moved from Las Vegas to Dallas or Houston.

Don't worry too much about TX schools voting as a block. We're at each others' throats on state budget, degree authorizations, etc, it'll probably be the same on WAC issues. And anyway if the WACT moves to Texas it should be at South Padre Island, not Dallas or Houston.

If ever strongarmed to Texas, think San Antonio. Or maybe Austin.

I'd very much prefer it to remain in Vegas, though 04-drinky

Or our new city Starbase.

If the tournament gets moved to TX it has to be considered to host it in Marfa "The Art Oasis" of TX. But in all honesty if they move it from Vegas I'm pulling for Hawaii and host the tournament a week earlier to give the winning team time to readjust before the tournament.

How do the residents of Boca Chica Village feel about the new name. Does Musk understand that a private individual can't file to incorporate a city?

RE: What will your team do in Vegas?
Well, the WCC occupies the Orleans Arena on the Thursday thru Tuesday of the weekend Prior to the NCAA selection. However, they play no games on Sunday due to BYU. The WAC occupies the Orleans Arena the Wednesday thru Saturday the weekend of the NCAA selection. In order for the WAC to expand the field it would either need to either add a secondary venue/site in Las Vegas for first round games. Or playin games at higher seeded WAC arenas prior to converging on Las Vegas. Also, to expand the tournament timeline, the WAC shift the Championship game to Sunday; but they might lose ESPNU media coverage.

In an ideal situation, all WAC teams would be able to compete in Las Vegas. That would draw the largest number of WAC fan to the tournament; and the championship game. Having site playin games prior to Las Vegas cuts down the field and the numbers of fans making the trip to the tournament. I would hate to book my trip months in advance only to find out later that my team did not make the cut (losing a playin game) and was not going to be in Las Vegas .

Your team with a high degree of confidence wouldn't be in the bottom 4 in a normal season.

This guy, who is suppose to be some kind of "insider" thinks that TSU will make the NCAA. The TSU media guy, even replied saying TSU isn't eligible, and he said he has inside info, that the NCAA and TSU have a handshake deal!!

Marketing suicide to leave Vegas. WACT is in town the same time the PAC12 and MWC with lots of media and the bball world's attention that week. The WCC has already asked to switch time slots in the Orleans with the WAC. So far, the WAC is holding tight. If the WACT moved anywhere they would never get the current time slot back. Then we'd be stuck with the prior week WCC slot or obligated to hold it somewhere else forever. My guess is that's why UMKC never got their supposedly promised hosting gig.

Nah, there are other options in Vegas. The MGM Grand has an arena that used to host the Pac 12 tournament. Wouldn't be surprised if the WCC moved there, BYU and Gonzaga can draw huge numbers.

South Padre Island sounds interesting. If any of the ski towns had suitable arenas, I would be all in.
WACT doesn't need to leave Vegas. Its a great destination for a tournament. Cheap flights, easy to access, multiple hotels and plenty to do. Tarletons been going there for years early in the season.

For those saying move to South Padre. SPI in March is a non-starter. It is a month long shitshow. Unless you are 18-23, stay the hell away.

Austin's just as bad during that window with South by Southwest. Except that group is the daydrinking brunch and food trailer crowd.

This tweet is so full of ****, it doesn’t deserve a response. But here goes...

For one, he has TSU getting the auto bid. How does he expect them to get the auto bid if they’re not in the WAC tournament?

Also Michigan State a 3 seed lmao

What??? You mean he doesn't really think Kentucky will be a 5 seed this year?

Replied to by Ryan Cox, some lummox who works for Carleton, and is apparently the most gullible person alive. Good lord. Did he even read any of the posts before replying and looking stupid?

Ah, should have looked at the account. I thought it was based on some machine learning algorithm gone wrong.
