Hello Hairy Castaway. Glad to have a UVU fans on this forum. They're few and far in between.
Most of the poster on this forum are Aggies but Tarleton fans are quickly becoming just as obnoxious. Can't throw a rock around here without hitting Texan now... Tarleton State, UTRGV, Abilene Christian and so on...
Agreed. (truly disappointed Aggies didn't sweep TSU) And I am concerned that texas football will soon run this conference and this board.
The only running they will be doing is for the exit when their ridiculous FBS pipe dreams blow up in their faces. The future of the WAC is in the West, and the center of the WAC is Utah.

Im not worried about TX football schools calling the shots. Who has actual influence in the WAC? NMSU and GCU, they are the main schools from the WAC that have been cobbling this thing together. I have confidence that NMSU and GCU will help with checking the TX football schools egos. I worry about the schools in the WAC going forward who don't have much influence like Seattle or UVU. I can see TX schools walking allover them.

I think with the additions of Dixie State and Southern Utah, Utah Valley (State of Utah) will have some say in the WAC. Seattle is the program on an Island. But besides their gym, I like them in the WAC. And, Seattle is a cool place to visit for WAC programs and fans.

Seattle is the international city of the WAC, It's a great place and I want Seattle U in the WAC I just worry about them dipping out sooner than later. As for the state of Utah that's in the WAC I think they are more along for the ride, get in and seatbelts everyone.

With few exceptions, we are all islands here. And that's why Dixie and Southern Utah in particular will be the keystones of the conference going forward, geographically.

This a good post to remember when Texas schools and maybe Utah schools start voting as a block.

Yup, the Texas schools could vote (in the future) to have the WAC tournament moved from Las Vegas to Dallas or Houston.

RE: What will your team do in Vegas?
I'm going to miss the WAC Tournament for the first time since 2012. Last season, the Tournament cancelled on me...but I was there. Once this COVID thing simmers down, I expect to be back at the WAC Vegas Tournament in 2022. With the Texas 4 schools added to the field, it should make for a very interesting Tournament.
If the WAC follows through with the tournament agreement they set this past pre-season, Dixie State and Tarleton State will be allowed to compete in 2022 but not receive the WAC auto-bid if they win. CBU will be fully eligible then and also Southern Utah join the conference; as Chicago State leaves after this (their final) WAC tournament.

So highest seeded team in WACT that's eligible for postseason will get the Auto Bid is CBU were to win the WACT.

The WAC should make all the games of the tournament free to view this year.

I think so. So if CBU were the #3 seed and they beat the #2 seed; all the #1 seed needs to do is get to the Championship game. Win or lose, they are in the NCAA Tournament.

Seattle is going to be playing in newly renovated old keys arena starting next season.

Key* and in Key Bank. Also the name of the arena is Climate Pledge Arena now. Amazon has their hooks all over that building now. It's going to be a cashless building and modeled after their cashless stores where you grab and go and your account will be charged for what you take. Lastly there has been no official announcement that Seattle U is coming back to this building either. Have friends in athletics at SU and they aren't even sure they are going back yet.

Isn't this mathematically equivalent to winning percentage where cancelled games count as losses?
WAC games played/WAC games scheduled x WAC winning % = (WAC games played/WAC games scheduled) x (WAC games won/WAC games played) = WAC games won/WAC games scheduled.
Unless I'm understanding something incorrectly.

If you came back from the future, and told me that NMSU exited in any round, I would probably believe you.

Don't worry too much about TX schools voting as a block. We're at each others' throats on state budget, degree authorizations, etc, it'll probably be the same on WAC issues. And anyway if the WACT moves to Texas it should be at South Padre Island, not Dallas or Houston.

I really doubt the WAC Tournament will be moved to Texas. The perfect spot for it is in Las Vegas. The state where there is zero WAC programs making it a true neutral site.

I hope it remains in Vegas. More thing to do there for the WAC fan. However, Denver could be an option if the WAC schools want it more centrally located.
