Offense - A (as in Absent). Even though we put up gaudy numbers vs struggling teams, there was absolutely no excuse for the post-MTSU meltdown. GRADE - F
Defense - S (as in solid). Even during the three game meltdown the d was holding teams to an average around 10ppg. The defense can only do so much. Because the offense was absent, the defense eventually wore down against the bigger teams. A significant amount of blame is on the offense. GRADE - A-
Special Teams - M (as in Meh). We certainly missed the services of Keion Davis i the return department. We found a decent kicker in Ciucci, but he has a limp noodle for a leg (but he’s a freshman. Allowed a few big returns which cannot happen. GRADE - C
Coaching - ZZZZZZ (as in asleep at the wheel). The unimaginable lack of making adjustments and sticking to what works is mind boggling. Docs lack of killer instinct is notorious around these parts and this time it hit him in the arse. He lost the team before the Rice game and it was painfully obvious. It isn’t how you start... it’s how you finish and Marshall was pathetic down the stretch. GRADE - F

RE: Season Grades For 2020 FBS Football Programs
Here is how I would rank UNT for the 2020 year.
Offense- A-
Quarterback play was suspect despite the guady numbers and stats of UNT's offense. Darden is now a consensus All-American and the line and running back was solid. A better QB could have led this offense to race past some of the opponents we lost to, even with the horrific defense.
Defense- F
Speaking of the defense. One of the worst in the country. Literally anybody with a pulse could run a 70 yard dive play through this D.
Special Teams- C
There was a mix of really bad moments and seemingly good moments. The bad are what we all remember.
Coaching- C-
Littrell's insistence on running the 3-3-5 at all costs is crippling. There are not good D coordinators who run such a defense, so every hire he makes is just as bad as the last. He also failed to hire a QB coach this season, taking on the roll himself in addition to being HC and OC. He obviously can't handle all that.
Team- C-
What a disappointment of a season.

B+ (UAB, Rice, UTSA)
B (Marshall)
B- (UTEP)
C+ (Charlotte, FAU)
C (LA Tech, UNT, USM, WKU)
C- (MTSU)
D (FIU)
Dropped Out (ODU)
LA Tech was 1-point away from being CUSA West champs in 2020. Tech beat UAB, UTEP, UNT and USM in the west, and actually led UTSA by 13 points until late in the 4th quarter. That's when Skip Holtz got over conservative and blew the lead, and lost 27-26. Tech's other CUSA loss in 2020 was to Marshall when the Herd was on a roll, but Tech could have still won the West with only 1 loss to Marshall.
This is why I want Skip Holtz to be fired. Skippy can FIND A WAY to lose a championship better than any coach in America. He doesn't have the heart of a champion. And he really doesn't seem to care about Conference championships. He needs to go.
So, LA Tech is right where they deserve to be on that list.

Darden gets an A+. That dude was a consensus All-American. Our first since Mean Joe Greene.
Now the rest of the North Texas team and staff get an F-.
Our defense was among the worst in college football, and our offense was only good once opponents had comfortable leads. Yeah, we went to a bowl, but we didn't earn it. Littrell is the highest paid coach in C-USA, and his staff is the highest paid staff in C-USA. We should not be average in this conference.
