RE: Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Kind of a depressing start to the holiday.
The big gathering we were supposed to go to (with deep fried turkey!) was been cancelled.
My Steelers-Ravens game tonight is cancelled.
No Bearcats game Saturday to look forward to.
I need a pick-me-up!

Enjoy your day with whatever family you can see. Been a crazy year but despite that plenty of joy to be had. Being able to have conversations with my 2 year old daughter... knowing a son is coming in March... Plenty to be thankful for.
And we have our future fbs playoff Cincinnati Bearcats!

RE: Happy Thanksgiving!!!
This year has sucked, and it is going to get worse before the new year rings in.
We cancelled our flight plans last week, the kids never knew they were a possibility, so no big disappointment there. When we realized we were doing a just us Thanksgiving, I bought a turkey breast to roast, ended up buying a few turkey legs as well because dark meat. The breast came out of the oven around 2 hr 30 min at 325, and the quality of the pan drippings was like nothing I have ever seen from roasting a whole bird. The gravy that was made from that was so good. Now I am thinking about cooking parts separately every year. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

RE: Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Spouse lost his job last week due to covid.
Kid can't come home from NY due to Cuomo's covid rules.
Our oven went out last weekend.
And there is no Bearcat game.
2020 can't get over fast enough. It has flat out sucked.

RE: Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Yes, better times ahead! COVID hasn't been first on my mind this year because my wife continues to battle Stage 2 cervical cancer going on 16 months. We're near the end of the journey and next month we'll know if the tumor is necrotic or if surgery will be required to remove it. I am SO thankful that cancer will not take my wife's life.
On another note, I finally did Thanksgiving right...I ate a modest plate during the first round. In years past I would eat a mound plate of food and get crushed by the caloric intake. I did manage a nap watching thee Washington Football Team vs Dal-ass, and just finished some pumpkin pie and a scoop of ice cream. Plan on the second round of food later tonight.
