Considering they spent a majority of their cap on an injury-prone Wentz, it's hard to see them improving that porous offensive line. So even if Wentz is forced into the job, he won't be starting long.

Funny how Ron made such a big deal out of wanting Taylor to "manage" games last year and then they go get arguably one of the worst game managers in the league.

The Washington OL is very good. It still battled through tons of injuries to be a well above average OL. Now, next year there is some concern bc they lose Scherff and Leno is a year older (but still should be ok).

Wentz is a little better than Heinicke but not enough to justify the cost. Doesn't really move the needle. They may still draft a QB, which means Heinicke is 3rd QB if they keep 3.

I would much rather the Commanders had taken a chance and drafted a QB.

They were 19th in adjusted line yards, had the 9th worst adjusted sack rate in the league and they were 17th in the league in getting to the 2nd level. They were good in power and avoiding RB stuffs, but the rest of the blocking statistics shows a middle of the road to bad offensive line.

And sure, some of that is due to the lack of weapons Washington had outside of McLaurin, McKissic and Gibson. But Heinicke was often running for his life well before a play could develop.

So did the trade come with the Carson Wentz ambulance, or do the Commandos have to provide their own?

Dumbest move ever. When taylor does come in and plays well. He should go free agent next year. Taylor is not the reason this team didn't excel, Taylor was the reason they got 7 wins. What a dumb move!

I am not really familiar with Skins history of dumbassedness but this move is right up there with FFF (Falcons futility fortitude)

Feel the same way today that I felt when I heard they were bringing in McNabb. Wentz may prove out to be a better move. Who knows at this point? I would argue Alex Smith was their best QB move in a long time and I'd say the was only average. Not a great history in this regard for this franchise.

I laughed, they may as well get the stretcher ready for Carson, and get him a good orthopedic surgeon. He will be in traction by October.

Still think they draft a QB early too. This move doesn’t change that IMO.

^^^ +3 They were playing their 3rd or 4th string center and had several other replacements filling in on the OL during the last part of the season. If they were a very good OL, I'd hate to see what a very bad OL looks like.

Desperate move by a desperate team. The QB's they really wanted were either not available or turned them down So they had to settle for Wentz. But Taylor will not beat him out: Wentz's TD/INT ratio is 4 to 1, far better than TH. Wentz is 6'5, five inches taller than TH. Of course, we know that Wentz is injury prone. But they are not paying someone 28 mil to sit on the bench.
