Stay over night & bus into town Sat a.m. Just curious: When you have teams coming into KBS, where do they stay?

Most teams typically stay at the Best Western Mountain Lodge in Banner Elk (just outside of Boone).

Some do occasionally stay in Hickory about an hour away as well, not many though.

Of the 29 games being played on Sat there were 18 of them tied with ESPN and CBS so they had a chance to pick 17 other games but chose Appy and Marshall. Is it a rare occasion yes, will it happen again soon most likely not. Should the two programs be excited for the time slot, hell yeah.

Hudspeth often spoke about having to stay 1,000 miles from Boone.

Most miles via sled dog until the final stretch with sledded rickshaws.

That is a good thing! Great exposure for the city as well. App fans may not know that our game vs EKU featured a broadcaster in Chicago & a color (!) commentator in Houston.....I guess that saved them plane tix & a motel + the per diem....BUT we did at least have the required female sideline reporter....which was nice!

Question, why are there so many Marshall alumni and fans in North Carolina? Tony Peterson is a Marshall alum, Clark is from Charleston, WV, I have a friend who's parents were from Charleston and he ended up graduating from Marshall (his grandfather played basketball at Marshall), and there are quite a few times I see Herd stickers down here.

I'd say they are by far the most common out of state G5 school that I see representation for in NC.

Agreed on premium kickoff time. With all of the pent-up demand to see live sports, it should reach a ton of TV sets! And, as a bonus - fans in the stands!!! Both schools will be well-represented. I said earlier that I knew App would travel.....

Earlier ? about being on broadcast TV. The only time I remember being on CBS was the 1992 Natty Championship vs Youngstown St. Never on NBC or ABC as far as I can remember.....

We played Ohio State on ABC back in 2004.

Clearly that was more about Ohio State. When was the last time the G5 had a game broadcast on CBS in the first few weeks of the season?

Game day! I think the lack of trash talk from either side speaks volumes! We respect each other, and are pretty evenly matched. We’ll find out today vs App D if our frosh QB is the real deal. Weather is turning out great!

If both teams play their best and even on turnovers App should win by a score. We all know football doesn’t work like that though.

One area we haven’t discussed is special teams. App struggled in week one, how is Marshall’s FG kicker? Can your KO guy kick it through the end zone?

Safe travels to everyone today.

Line up to 5.5, public money on App, don’t like that.

I did like Bill Murray’s pick though

Good to see App playing Marshall. Now we need to get Marshall on our schedule. GS and App and Marshall should be playing each other regularly

Find a kicker that can kick it into the end zone.

Marshall’s online dominated App, no push at all. Yikes.

App still has plenty of talent on defense, but it's been pretty spotty at times this season.
