Ouch
Side Joe told Hog Dawg that North Texas State would not lose to SMU as bad as last year.
It looks like it might be even worse

Disappointing to see that North Texas still hasn't learned to play defense.

It's even worse now. And our starting linebackers being suddenly unavailable for undisclosed medical reasons doesn't help.

Don't worry, UNT has another beating coming next Saturday. We'll get it over with quickly.

The really amazing thing is that those people (at the Denton Chronicle) GET PAID for such foolish "predictions".

The Mustangs are going to score a lot of points, because that's what they do. Sonny Dykes is known for his offenses, and he has an experienced QB in Shane Buchele this year. SMU is going to get their's against UNT's pedestrian defense.
The question is, can UNT score enough offensively to keep up. I'm guessing no. SMU wins 42-20.
The defense rests, your honor.

Was North Tex supposed to be decent this year? SMU seems hot/cold this year almost losing in game 1.

We may not win, but we're not going to lose by more than we did last season.
Sure you will. Last year you had Mason Fine returning at QB for the 4th straight year. This year, you don't. Fine was worth at least 2 more TD's for UNT. Fine was arguably the greatest QB in UNT history.
Fine was probably our best QB ever. But, in his senior season, he was not 100%. I think the years of bad protection had taken a toll on his overall performance. That isn't to take anything from him. He was tough as they come.
This season, our o-line seems to be better at pass blocking. If that is the case, that is big for our offense. And, Adaway is an incredible talent in the backfield. After two weeks of football, he is still the second leading rusher in C-USA, even though he has only touched the ball 5 times. He is also tied for 2nd in rushing TD's, with 2. Plus, our defense can't be worse than last year. And, we do appear to have some talent at the QB position. Time will tell.
I was wrong! I was wrong!! I was wrong!!!
North Texas stank it up. If not for the fact that Dykes is a good friend of Littrell, we would have been beaten even worse. We are among the worst programs in the worst conference. I am sorry y'all have to be associated with us. Until our administration gets serious and refuses to accept this level of incompetence we will remain terrible. The only positive to come from this embarrassment is that some of our fans are actually calling for Littrell to be fired.

+3 for nailing it.
