Don't know, his twitter seems more like an offer not a commit.

More likely a PWO. We may have to wait until Wednesday to get clarification. Great upside here. We seem to be getting some very solid athletes to go PWO.

Presumably yes, a PWO.

Looking at his Twitter feed its funny how a kid like this makes a tweet that he's going to be announcing his decision in a few days.

Don't know if this JUCO WR is committed or not. Had an O/V.

P.S. EMU hasn't forgotten that 4-letter acronym, J-U-C-O.

RE: Unofficial 2022 Football Recruiting Thread
Lets summarize by noting the following. The staff lost two experienced QBs and was able to bring one QB with D1 experience and a future prospect both in school and able to participate in spring practice. We brought in two experienced D1 LBs both participating in spring practice. We brought in future prospects at RB, DE and RB. We brought in a PWO punter to compete for Julien's job. We brought in a JUCO WR and a FCS transfer to build depth at WR. It looks like we may have gotten a steal from our JUCO DB Scott. All of this with limited scholarships. The big mystery to me is the lack of a immediate impact DE or DT. We may need to bring in competition and depth at PK.

I thought yesterday's signings were underwhelming given that we did free up a number of scholarships but did not really add FBS transfers.

The transfer portal should be like going to Baskin-Robbins and getting what one wants.

Well all those hundreds players stuck in the portal without home would tell you otherwise. More like the Island of Misfit Toys. CC still has time to add transfers after this semester. My point is that we filled position holes with some exceptions.

Not signing a immediate impact player at DE/DT may indicate that the staff is high on the younger players they already have.

I'm fired up about Chase Kline at LB. I think he is going to be an immediate impact player who will impact the Eagle's defense significantly.

Indeed we NEED an impact player, esp. at say LB, who can clean up a lot of things.

In the past we've had a few really good LBs and people kind of forgot what Hoying did as a safety. Not the fastest DB around, but he got it done and was an impact defender. People remember Crosby and Harris but forget the LBs and FB behind them.

In terms of returning production on the defensive side......
It's no secret that our LB's struggled last year. Kline from MSU and Sparacio from B.C. provide instant upgrades and will push Speights to be better. I also think that Scheidt who got injured last year will be in the mix. We should be MUCH better at that position. As for the DT..... I think we will be much better as well with Swindle, Evans, Jose, Haney and Aaron Hamilton. Young but talented group and all will be coming back in '24 which bodes well for us. As for our secondary, I think this group will also be much imporved as we should see the youth's experience finally pay off with a combo of the following play.....Peavy, Vaden, Lee, Daniel, Benson (was injured last yr), Bogan, Carter and Scott who is our recent JUCO transfer. I was never high on McGee, Paul or Hubbard and they are now out opening up spots to guys who played but didnt get a ton of p.t. This is a deep group and we should see better production.

Overall, I stil hate our dumb 4-2-5 scheme but the players should all be better given that we didnt lose any major contributors, gained 2 good LB's and should see the youth movement finally pay dividends. I dont think this is a top MAC defense, but should be better than we were last year. This should be a mid to upper-mid group.

Great point! Hoying, Rachwal and Calhoun lacked some speed and coverage skills but when the encountered a ball carrier, they arrived with bad intentions. Kevin McGill had far greater talent, as he was a good coverage guy, BUT he introduced a new age of "soft tackling" that persists today.

Head scratcher. Could have gone G5 or possibly P5. Was an EMU target.

I do not know, but that would be a reasonable guess.

Recruiting can be crazy. And we don't know what we don't know... 04-jawdrop

I remember EMU hoops stopped recruiting a player after they got word from a recruiting analyst who had heard the player say to another player on court, (to the effect), "don't mess with me I have a gun in the car."

This story is old goes back a decade or two (I'm being evasive on purpose).
