EMU79,
I see we played true freshman Peyton Price last night, did we just burn a year of his eligibility?
He is permitted 4 games w/out burning a redshirt.
I think Peyton has played more than 4 games and ditto that for Carter Evans Samsons brother.

'79 is correct.
The 'participation report' is on Page 31 of the EMU Game Notes.

E.g., if you were wondering if Howie has come back yet. The game notes indicates he missed the 3 previous games.

According to my math the only 2021 class members who have burned their redshirt years so far are Fordham WR, Evans DE, Price DT and Westmoreland WR. The remaining class members should have have redshirted.

I’m disappointed that we burned one of their years. Not one of these players had a “MAC freshman of the Year” seasons so we should have kept them out.

Lucky I agree. Nevertheless I think the new "immediate transfer rule" is bound to change Creighton's outlook on red-shirting. Why pay for a scholarship for five years when you can do it for four? Westmoreland looks extremely promising but like "Q" he might end up at Buffalo. It's a new world where a coach has to be concerned more with the "investment" issues regarding personnel.
I heard a Gary Danielson interview today. His advice to P5 programs? "Stop chasing anything but the BEST High School prospects and skim off the MAC, Sun Belt and other lower programs in the transfer portal for the rest". Sad but true. The days of developing a prospect into NFL quality are indeed over for the MAC, we need to get all we can get when we can.

nothing stopping the MAC and Sun Belt from skimming the best from FCS and D II

Sometimes injuries are a factor.

It is...they scheduled a mini-practice for today to show the recruits some activity...nice to be able to tell them you are practicing for an anticipated bowl invitation. And you couldn't have asked for a better day weather-wise in December on the grey turf.

Any idea who any of these recruits are, and positions possibly? Thanks!

Dude is mauler. Big guy that can play off the edge and also might get some work in at LB. 6'3 in the 260 range. This is a real good get. Keep em coming in the defensive side of the ball.

Add 10 or 20 lbs in muscle and he's a DT.

RE: Unofficial 2022 Football Recruiting Thread
I assume (how can it not be?) this weekend is the 2nd and final recruiting visit weekend before next Wednesday's signing day.
What is interesting (or maybe I need a better word) is how SLOW the Twitter posts have been from recruits. I haven't heard the name of any scholarship recruit who hasn't already committed. Maybe some more have visited but there is a 'news blackout.'
Are we prepared for a very small December recruiting class with the real action happening after bowl games when players will decide to move on and sign in February?
