Do you really think the impact would be that devastating? No question that some programs were operating underwater before Covid, and many were so close that this will create havoc--some we are already seeing, like droppping sports and furloughing staff. However, what does "Goodbye G5" mean?
Does it mean some FBS schools move to FCS? Good luck finding a conference home. Do you see them dropping further to Div II? Could they drop athletics all together? Maybe I just don't get it, but if it is anything more than a few I believe the NCAA will have to come up with a relief program to save the status quo. Perhaps something like schools dropping sports to less than 16 with a five year plan to get back to that number, and the NCAA expecting annual milestones to be met.
I fully believe it will kill a decent number of D2 and FCS football programs. They already operate in the red even before looking at non-revenue sport costs.
G5 could lose a few programs.
I do know the disparity between the G5 and P5 will grow faster if you set all football programs back a year in many areas. If you’re looking for reprieve from the NCAA don’t forget who calls the shots, the P5 programs will attempt to prevent saving G5 and below programs. Never let a good crisis go to waste to institute change in your favor.
Much like the education of the poor vs rich is about to take a worse turn if elementary age students aren’t in the classroom this fall. Some of them will never catchup and books will be written about the lost generation.
There is always a trade off.
Speaking of which, while we’re getting a ruling from clt, one more question.
Is it catchup or katsup?
I’ll hang up and listen
I think he was referring to ketchup. All generations need ketchup.
I believe he is asking phonetically, which way do you pronounce it?

clt says fancy ketchup is actually a technical term for ketchup with a higher solid tomato ratio.

RE: Will we have fans in the stands this fall?
Not surprising, pretty close polling results so far.
I didn't want to complicate it anymore, and have differing varying degrees of yes or no questions. But I understand it's complicated.
There are probably two camps in the yes: those that believe we can get up to full capacity and have a full season, and those that probably think we would be lucky to have a few weeks of very limited attendance.
But even considering that, so far the results are showing it's a pretty close split.

Yes, no one wants to think about it, but I don't think it would surprise most if there are no Fall sports whatsoever.

As someone who has no fear whatsoever and would be comfortable going to a full stadium with no mask, I'm starting to feel the same. If you look at it from a liability and political standpoint, the odds are beginning to look very slim.

If what we're seeing now with infection rates going up due to young adults going to bars is any indicator, then no.
You think all these students coming on campus from out of state are not going to mingle with each other in the dorms and at bars?
It might very well be a **** show this fall.

I'm starting to think some Universities will not allow on campus classes this fall with the recent COVID19 spike. Also the bigger question what if multiple players for one team test positive, does that team have to quarantine for two weeks? Those issues could really mess up schedules conference championships and any potential bowl games. Spring football starting in February may make more sense.

clt says Heinz has a strong ketchup product, but needs an option without corn syrup.

I just did the shopping today, I can confirm Heinz does sell a 16 oz sugar only option. It was around $4.99 for a 16oz bottle, about $2.50 more than the regular. There's also a sugar and organic version even. Heinz is really upping it's game.

Yeah, it was high priced. Kroger. I'll just wait till it goes on sale.
