The Shaver firing is definitely going to hurt next year, but I think it’s time we all move on from that. What happened, happened. Nothing will change it now.

I’m not sure why I continue to spend a lot to travel to watch this sad re-run expecting a different outcome, 48th season in a row as a disappointed Tribe fan. I’m beginning to wonder if the term masochist might apply.

Good luck. I've been trying to encourage people to do that since the preseason.

No strategy or play design Coach Holmes did beat us. Where Coach Holmes really hurt us is the talent he took with him to Elon. Guys he recruited while here that went elsewhere or with him to Elon. Cam Brown to st joes, and the two all-freshmen were both guys being pursued by the pre-Dane Tribe.

Holmes will get an HC job soon, at least I hope he will. His recruiting is absolutely unmatched.

We beat Elon just 8 days ago. We didn't lose 8 days later because of Holmes or lost recruits. We lost because Elon shot very well when it mattered and we weren't ready.

That said, I believe Elon will take our milk money for the next few years, precisely because of Holmes and lost recruits.

Interesting that the Elon coach specifically talked about Holmes on the interview leaving the court. Very complementary.

If you dig deep, you see the big reason for the win was that we were out recruited last year. Their freshmen scored 32 points tonight. Ours scored 3. There are no Woods or McIntoshs in our system for next year. That's where we really need to improve.

You saying that a way that this game could’ve been lost is Nate becoming too selfish, in an effort to boost personal stats. Nate hasn’t done that all season. It was a ridiculous statement then, it’s a ridiculous statement now.

Great post, except for the part about some of your list not having the option of wearing the colors that they wore for a real long time.

We lost because a team with no one taller than 6’6” got 14 offensive rebounds! How the hell does that happen? EFFORT

Shaver was the only one prevented from continuing on in green and gold. It might have been awkward, but Dane tried to keep Holmes and all the departed players. They chose different paths. No hard feelings and no excuses. I think Holmes is a great recruiter. Dane and staff need to be better.

This is a bad post. Don’t let your emotions take it out on the wrong people. Holmes lost his job, the other kids lost their coach. I’m hurt over this loss too, but saying F Holmes and F Shaver and F the kids who left is not productive. Should be pointing our anger in a different direction IMO.
