Biden is attempting to act like Trump, but the problem is, he's not Trump. He's shooting his mouth off at his voting block, not some random celebrity that attacked him on Twitter.

Just as logical as believing you can ask capitalism to ever be something it's not. Capitalism is an amazing system, as long as you don't ask it to care about anything other than the one thing it's designed to care about, making as much profit as possible. When you have industries with low barriers to entry and lots of competition and alternatives it's great for consumers. Companies are forced to become more efficient, innovate, lower prices, or they go out of business. That's what we all want and is a great thing for everyone. When you have industries that have extremely high barriers to entry, with limited competition/alternatives, and especially an extremely inelastic product where demand is not responsive to price that's when capitalism runs into problems. It's not private businesses jobs to care about what's best for the public as a whole, it's their business to make as much profit as they possibly can within the framework of the law.

Why is the left so hell bent on insurance being the answer? They pay lip service to "cost of goods and services" but that's about it. If they were serious about "healthcare" then they would quit bitching so much on putting everyone on insurance and figure out why the stuff is so damn expensive in the first place.

Yep.......and while we know that the laws of supply and demand are a big factor in the cost - and that increasing the supply of health care people/etc. would have the effect of lowering the costs. Those in government are largely bought and paid for by big pharma and the medical establishment.......so the supply side never gets brought up...

Instead, they just want those working to pay for those that don't AND to go down the path of government run (more power) healthcare. It would be worse than we have today, but those getting to pull the levers in government would make a windfall............

.......and here we sit - doing nothing that would lower costs .

Right! They have to be on payroll!

Take insulin for example. The cost of Humalog in 2001 was $35. In 2015 it is $234. Consumer costs double every 10 years...but in this case??? And it can't be driven by R&D. Insulin hasn't changed a ton in the past 60 years...

There's a lot of reasons for it, which was very interesting to read. I didn't realize essentially they've been slightly tweaking insulin over and over which allows them to extend the life of their patent protections. Then I would say there's very clearly some good ole fashioned collusion to ensure the 3 companies that owned (and seem to still own) patents on insulin keep prices right in line with each other.

Let's try to explain to Davy St. about capitalism's supply and demand. Let's look at Trump and the Demons for instance. Trump is giving the people (that care about our country) what they've been asking for and the Demons have had nothing in the shelves. Trump is supplying what we've demanded thus he will again be elected while the Demons are like the store owners telling its customers that soon they'll have something on the shelves to sell, and the people are not buying that. You can't buy empty promises.

Biden is a fake. There is nothing genuine about him. Trump, on the other hand, is just being himself. When he’s a dick it’s because he’s a dick, simple as that.

The ability to be genuine is something Carter, Reagan, and Clinton had. The Bushes were stiffs. Never got a good reading on Obama and I believe that was intentional.

The electorate likes a candidate they can connect with. Of the Democratic challengers none are great but at least Bernie seems genuine. Pete and Liz are stiffs just like Joe
