Plenty of us "saw the light" last time. It's why I voted for Gary Johnson. If they do this I'll never vote for a single Democrat again. Now I'll never vote for a GOP candidate either I'll just vote 3rd party or leave my vote blank until the new left party that replaces the Dems is formed, but this will be the last straw. I would much rather live with a second Trump term than support this level of corruption from the Dems. I made that decision in 2016 (and had some apprehension about it) but this time I won't even feel slightly guilty about it.

Wait, you mean you're willing to live with an incredible, booming economy and unprecedented prosperity for minorities? How noble of you. 03-lmfao

When the history books are written whether you like or hate what he's done/how he's done it Trump is gonna go down in history as changing the political landscape more than any single politician since FDR. He's officially remade the GOP into his party and will likely be a defining factor in the death of the Democrat party.

I think the health of the DNC is predicated on whether or not they can run the socialists out of the party. Losing this election won’t be the mortal wound. But if Michelle Obama/Oprah don’t win in 2024 it will be a wrap.

You know the funny thing... I debated this with one of my usual sources when I do get into political talk (outside of csn), and I think I convinced someone that with DJT, I even told them, you wanted a third party President.... you've got him RIGHT NOW..

DJT is as close as I'll ever get to have a Constitution Party member (as I consider him more in touch with that party, than I could consider him on the Libertarian side, although he shows some Libertarian leanings on occasion) as the President of the United States.

Couldn't disagree more. Also it's not that losing this election would be a mortal wound it's if they use a brokered convention to give the nomination to their anointed choice over Bernie that the party, because you'll never get the Bernie people back in the tent again. If Bernie won the primary and then got trounced by Trump that would actually be fine for the democrat establishment, because it would prove their theory right that a true socialist can't win.

You think the AOC's and Bernie's of the world are going to stop if they lose this election? Not a chance. This is the Democrat party now. The day they embraced the "squad", they signed their own death warrant as a viable political party.

So the Democrats having their nominee for President be somebody who isn't a Democrat isn't a problem for them?

Stop? No but if they took a resounding national beating vs Trump and proved Bernie's theory wrong that you can't win a national election by activating a large group of voters that feel like they have no voice then that movement is derailed for decades.

So the Democrats having their nominee for President be somebody who isn't a Democrat isn't a problem for them?

It's obviously a HUGE problem for the democratic elites inside the party, but there's not going to be a party if they subvert the will of the people with a sham brokered convention. Trump was a problem for the Republican elites as well, but they had their primary and let the people decide they wanted to go in that direction.

I'm guessing the democrat convention this summer will look a lot like Chicago in 1968. I just hope the rest of the country doesn't blow up like back then. Come to tis of it, Montgomery County, Texas, just might be the safest place to be if it does.
