Seems lenient - I'd have given USF an F. I guess somehow beating BYU was worth a full letter grade.

a, minus? most folk expected the bearcats to win 8-9 games. ecu should have gotten an f. it's more of a lifetime achievement f; maybe not particularly this past season. i have no idea how you did well i guess i kinda have an idea; you were supposed to have good football. what are you gonna do ecu, beat us in basketball?
we play twice this year and it's gonna shake out in time honored fashion. forgive my meandering i'm on a roll. we'll win by thirty at home and it's a toss up on the road. my brethren often site the distance one must travel to get to stormy greenville as to the bewilderment we endured. i say nay. it must be something else

Lush, I had the same thoughts on UC. Maybe everyone knew they we’re gonna be that good. I certainly didn’t. Relative to my preseason expectations Cincy would be an A+.

The fact that Tulane won a bowl game by 17 and gets a B- tells me that the standards have been raised by Fritz and the players.

Low expectations? Maybe they put us in the "special" classes?

Disappointing article from USA Today. Very sketchy and incomplete criteria. Temple finished 8-5 and got a C+. Other 8-5 teams:
A-
Indiana
B+
Buffalo, California, Central Michigan, Kentucky, Louisville
B
Arizona State, Liberty, Miami OH, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Wyoming
B-
Arkansas State, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, Washington
Certainly if Washington which started the season ranked earned a B- then why would Temple with much lower expectations earn a C+ for the same record? Was this weighted towards bowl games? The article claims its a season grade. Click bait.
I give USA Today a D.

I don't understand the A- for Cincinnati. Vegas had Cincinnati winning 6 or 7 games this year. Maybe they got the minus because they let the AAC championship game slip away?

I don't think you quite realize in just how bad of shape Scottie Montgomery left ECU. Horrible player attrition, and the guys that were left were undersized, not strong enough (due to a terrible strength & conditioning program under Mo), and just not AAC caliber players. He had ONE recruiting class that he basically salvaged when he took over.
With one of the least talented rosters in ECU history, he managed to win 4 games, and they gave Temple, UCF, Cincinnati, & SMU all great games this year. These are games that we would have been absolutely blown out in the past 3 years.
I say ECU gets a C. Absolutely.

I was just going to post this. According to the odds maker quoted by this CBS Sports article, UC was forecasted to win 6 games this year.
Of course, I along with most UC fans vehemently disagreed with this prognostication. I had UC finishing with 9 wins. Looks like I was off by a couple games.
