W&M Football All-Decade Team (2010s)
W&M Football had some incredible talent run through Zable Stadium this past decade, from Jonathan Grimes to John Carpenter and more -- see who made our ALL-DECADE TEAM in the article below!

Did we miss anyone?

LET'S GO TRIBE.

Would have placed Mike Stover (2010) above both defensive tackles. Pretty spot-on otherwise.

I can see an argument for Stover over Claytor, but not Bill Murray. 32 TFL, 19 sacks and 10 blocked kicks are stats that stand up against anyone who has ever played the position.

Great list. The only name I can think of not already mentioned is Dante Cook at linebacker.

I think the reason we chose Claytor over Stover was because Stover only played one season in the decade, as his last year was in 2010 04-cheers

Definitely remember Cook as a great player, but he missed a lot of games his junior/senior seasons (only played in 11 contests over that stretch).

Yoder also played one season in the decade but you had him as HM.

I’ll add that by body of work, I agree that Carpenter is the pick for K, but Nick Dorka’s 1st team AA season is probably worthy of a mention on these boards.

When healthy Cook was elite. I remember his performance against UNC in 2010 - a team loaded with NFL picks (Bruce Carter) - and he was best LB on field. If I recall correctly he played most of his last year with a torn ligament in his knee.

We're not going to explain every pick, BUT Yoder had a historic season returning the ball this year, even if it's just one season:

"Yoder made the team as a kicker returner after breaking the William & Mary record for kickoff return yards in a season. His total of 913 yards surpassed the previous mark of 817 by Jonathan Grimes in 2011."

"Yoder returned 34 kicks for an average of 26.9 yards, third best in program history behind 28.4 by Dick Pawlericz in 1974 and 27.5 by Tre McBride in 2013."

W&M Football All-Decade Team (2010s)
I'm not asking you to explain every pick but I suggest being open to further discussion with the few people on here who want to discuss your article. Someone mentioned Stover, one of your arguments against him was that he only played one season in the decade, so I mentioned Yoder's one season played in the decade. Had you wrote Stover had a great season but his one season in the decade wasn't as impactful as, say, Yoder's one season, I could grasp that. Reads like it was much more about impact vice limited sample size. No big deal...thanks for WMSB's continued support of Tribe athletics.

One opinion:

Offensive Player of the Decade...the great Jonathon Grimes
Defensive Player of the Decade...the irrepressible B.W. Webb

1b) Deandre Houston-Carson

100% agree on Houston-Carson. He was a special player.
