Seriously Clark, they are

Wait, a school in Arkansas is giving free tickets to anyone who dresses like they’re from Arkansas? COGS

May have felt like last for GSU fans, but GSU was picked 6th in the preseason poll.

Here's the preseason poll with everyone's non-conference record attached (which is mostly meaningless when it comes to determining who's gonna be any good this year):
1. USA (8) 5-4
2. UTA (2) 4-7
3. GS (1) 6-4
4. TXST (1) 7-4
5. UL 5-5
6. GSU 6-3
7. CCU 7-4
8. ULM 4-4
9. App 6-4
10. A-State 7-3
11. LR 6-5
12. Troy 4-7

This has to be the most wide open I've ever seen the league going into conference play since we joined.

After 59 fouls, 10 technical fouls. 2 ejections and Bob Marlin shoving his own player, AState defeats UL 79-67 to open League play

10 technicals..... no fights, no pushing or shoving. Usually, the tech being called surprised everybody. These refs tried way too hard. I hope the commissioner does something about these officials. Otherwise, ESPN may have to step in and tell the refs to swallow their whistles to keep the games within timeframe.

Timeframe?

Its the NCAA that instructed officials to call this way. They did it to increase scoring.

If games run long ESPN is not happy. My real question is why wait until conference games to enforce it?

Thing is, ESPN really doesn't have much control on the basketball side. That's CBS baby. and CBS loves drama.

If we’re going to shoot less then 46% from the field, we might want to consider going after those offensive boards, just saying...... 01-wingedeagle

You guys should be all right. You don't make many mistakes on defense and force the other team to earn every point. Glad to have at least the split with the Bobcats.

Markquis Nowell! Go ahead nba 3 pointer with 3 seconds left lifts Little Rock over ULM!

However I will say that the refs were terrible and made too many questionable calls. They might want to check the drinking water down in Louisiana.

But I got a lot of respect to ULM! They got a good team.

LR 73 ULM 72

1:55 Marlin is a clown who needs to be shipped back to the Southland

Well that's a new one. I get the whole they won the league last year, so people gun for the champs thing, but acting like we're all so excited to play in the Cajun Dome in front of a 30-40 percent capacity crowd because its so nice looking is a step to far.

Typical Marlin. I think he was trying to find a way to rationalize out how you lost to a really bad basketball team at home, when you simply could have just pointed out that Marquis Eaton had one of his rate "great shooting" nights, that he's unlikely to be able to repeat and ended it there.

Guy is a pompous ass many hope he is on the chopping block soon

He blocked me on Twitter lol.

He blocked a ton of GSU fans several years ago.

GS/Texas St game a an ugly grinding sort of game. I thought refs stopped the game too much on both ends. We recovered from being behind 16-1 to start the game to pull it out. Very little faith in us winning in San Marcos

GSU fortunate to pull out 83-77 win over UTA to begin defense of 2018-19 regular season championship. UTA hit 17 of 17 FTs, but GSU hit 24 of 34 to spell the difference at game's end.

This is all our games.

We had about 100 opportunities to win this game. Byington outcoached Kaspar tonight, which isn't something I probably often say when these teams meet. Southern has out-talented us a few times over the years for wins, but this one was different. Byington's adjustments worked, Kaspar's didn't (and sometimes weren't needed).
