Michigan beat Notre Dame by 30. Georgia barely squeaked by. The same Michigan team got destroyed by Wisconsin.

Georgia had a much worse loss.

Almost no evidence did.

Wisconsin lost by 31 the first time they played Ohio St.. Wisconsin lost to Illinois.

Georgia had 4 common opponents with LSU:
Georgia beat Vandy by 24, LSU by 28
Georgia beat Auburn by 7, LSU by 3
Georgia beat Florida by 7, LSU by 14
Georgia beat A&M by 6, LSU by 43

Yes. Georgia sucks

Georgia lost to 4-8 South Carolina

Baylor surprised me. They’ll probably get the Cotton over Auburn.

If those happen as predicted, both LSU and Baylor will make repeat appearances at their CCG site.

That would put Auburn in the Citrus vs. Michigan and Alabama in the Outback, I suppose.

You do understand that the Big 12 is guaranteed to be in the sugar Bowl don't you??

Whoops.

Baylor to Sugar and Wisconsin to Cotton.

Clemson will beat Ohio State. Soft ACC schedule means Clemson is a lot fresher. Big advantage for them.

if they were playing next week yeah, but they play in 20 days which will allow Ohio St to rest up.

RE: Fearless NY6 predictions thread ....
If the committee ever releases its full ranking 03-banghead and if that ranking is similar to the AP and coaches polls, then...

Rose Bowl

-- Both polls have Wisconsin ahead of Penn State, which would put Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl with Oregon.

Sugar Bowl

-- Both polls have Georgia ahead of Florida, which would put Georgia in the Sugar Bowl with Baylor.

Orange Bowl

-- Both polls have Florida ahead of every Big Ten team and SEC team not in the playoff, Rose, or Sugar, which would put Florida in the Orange Bowl.

-- Both polls have Virginia ahead of every other ACC also-ran, which would put Virginia in the Orange Bowl.

Cotton Bowl

-- Both polls have Memphis ahead of every other G5 conference champ, which would put Memphis in the Cotton Bowl.

-- AP has Auburn and Alabama tied and both ahead of Utah and Penn State. Coaches have the order as Alabama-Utah-Penn State-Auburn. Whichever team the committee puts first among those four would be in the Cotton Bowl, because they would be ahead of every team not already in the playoff, Rose, Sugar, or Orange Bowl.

Wisconsin lost to Illinois who lost to Eastern Michigan. That should have been a consideration for Wisconsin not being allowed in the Big 10 ccg.04-cheers

South Carolina wasn't that good, but they did that 4-8 against the #1 schedule in the nation according to Sagarin.
Auburn had the #2 schedule, W. Virginia #3, Texas #4 and TCU #5. Rest of top 10-Kansas, Miss. St., Iowa St., Stanford, LSU.

I understand the Wisconsin over Penn St argument. I just prefer Penn St.

Wisconsin 3 losses to Illinois and Ohio St twice. Penn St lost to Minnesota and Ohio St. Minnesota is a better loss than Illinois. Both beat Iowa and Michigan (and Wisconsin did beat Minnesota.) I think they’re fairly equal.

I think Clemson has been playing down to their competition. That can lead to sloppiness, but I think they will rise up and beat Ohio St.

My guess is that the voter consensus is that Wisconsin shouldn't be penalized versus Penn State for playing Ohio State twice instead of once.

I'm slightly surprised at the apparent consensus for Alabama's relative ranking, but brand name always carries weight with voters.

Auburn stands out in the coaches poll. They are #9 in AP which seems about right, but #13 in coaches. They lost close to #1 LSU, #5 Georgia and #7 Florida. They beat #6 Oregon and #9 Alabama. They beat everyone else. That is a top 10 resume (if you include those 5 opponents in the top 10).

Objectively Auburn should be ranked ahead of Alabama, but unless someone values the "CFP" label above all else, the only difference is between playing Memphis in the Cotton Bowl on Dec. 28, versus playing Penn State in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1.
