The top of the SEC is very good. There are 5 schools that could compete for the championship of any conference. Its just that the bottom half is about as weak as it has been in many years. There are 5 schools that could compete for the bottom half of the AAC and MWC.

How do we know if the SEC is any good?
They have exactly two good OOC wins, and one of those was a close one over a team the fourth best B1G team blew out.

To be fair the big 10 doesn’t have anymore but at least the Big Ten is playing nine conference games so that limits the OOC match ups.

Realistically you can argue that the Big Ten is the conference that deserves four NY6 spots not the SEC

The Big Ten has 2 as well... Both have Notre Dame....

SEC has Auburn beating Oregon. Yeah this Oregon
Big Ten has Ohio St beating Cincy....

B10 gets Ohio St in playoff, Penn St in Rose, Wisconsin probably in Cotton. Michigan and Iowa have 3 losses, and Minnesota their schedule wasn't that good.
SEC gets LSU in playoff, Georgia in Sugar, and Florida in Orange. Alabama and Auburn have 2 losses.

Only way it changes is if LSU loses to Georgia. Then both are in playoff and Florida gets Sugar. Very possible in that situation that Auburn would get into the Cotton(with Wisconsin getting the Orange).

More than made up by Auburn beating Oregon as 2nd best win compared to Ohio St beating Cincy. And not even sure what #3 is- but LSU over Texas very impressive.
