If you hire art you get his son Ken and don't have to worry about losing your coach.

But worry about your females getting rapped. Not much of a toss-up.

I hope to God that we pass on Taggart, but given that we're about to have to pay Strong's buyout and Taggart's buyout may* contain offset language, I sadly could see USF go this route to make it affordable.

*if Taggart never actually signed his contract, as has been reported, this probably goes out the window...

Lol, this is like a semi-racist comment

I know what you mean but....I would just say an FCS or CUSA team.

Perhaps ODU’s next coach? Our buyout of Wilder drops from $900K to $600K tomorrow. So expect our announcement tomorrow.

Chad Morris is available, ready to pull into the fast lane, put the hammer down, spew even more coachspeak cliches and maybe even stay put in the AAC this time. And The Hogs are willing to help out!

I have a better chance of being named the head coach than Holtz.

Look for Butch Jones to get an interview. I wouldn't hire him, but I hear Saban is looking for more people to blame the Auburn loss on. So Butch is looking for a change of venue. Anything to get him more money, so we can get that POS off the Tennessee payrolls.

Charlie Strong has been fired at USF, sources told
@Stadium
. In Strong’s 3 seasons the Bus were 3-14 vs. teams that finished with a winning record.

So this made me curious. I looked at Strong's tenure at USF from 2017-present.

He started 2017 7-0 before his first loss. They finished the season 10-2 (the UMass game was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma).

They started 2018 7-0 again. This put his record at 17-2. Then it seems like the wheels fell off. They went 0-6 to finish out the season.

They went 4-8 this season.

After starting out 17-2 Strong went 4-14 before being fired.

What happened last season? Midway through things went south.

All but $190K of this comes from the USF Foundation.

2017 he still had Quinton Flowers, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and D'Ernest Johnson (Taggart recruits).

By 2018, without them to bail him out, he started 7-0 as a paper tiger against the following:

Elon (FCS, 6-5)
Georgia Tech (7-6)
Illinois (4-8)
ECU (3-9)
UMass (4-8)
Tulsa (3-9)
UConn (1-11)

Even with that murderer's row, USF won those FBS games by an average margin of ~8. Once the schedule turned reasonable, the results were predictable. 21 point loss at Houston. 26 point loss vs. Tulane. 12 point loss at Cincinnati. 10 point loss at Temple. 28 point loss vs. UCF. 18 point loss IN OUR HOME STADIUM in the bowl game vs. Marshall. It's less that things went south, and more that the schedule stopped being Charmin soft.
