That is an amazing stat. That first play for Monmouth was their total rushing yards. 0 net rushing yards for the rest of the game for them with the nation's leading rusher. We were also missing a starting DL.

I mainly predicted this game right.

1) I said Monmouth had a bad defense and wouldn't be able to stop us. I didn't know it would mean a score on every offensive drive with 2nd and 3rd string QBs in the game though. Poor Harry was just counting the clouds in the sky all game.
2) I said Guerrero would get at least one score. I just didn't think it would be a 93 yard explosion and would be his only rushing yards of the game.
3) I said they'd score 14-21 no matter how well we played on D. 21 scored. I didn't think they'd all be meaningful time scores in the 1st quarter and change though. I also didn't see us shutting them out for 3 quarters pretty much.

I did not see a 66-21 final though. Bahar was also a relative non-factor in the game. He may have not been too injured, but outside of one play, he was a non-existent running threat who couldn't evade a sack if his OL blocking broke down. That pretty good Monmouth OL is the only reason why Bahar wasn't on the ground a lot more in this game.

After NDSU's performance against Nicholls, including only leading by a point late in the 3rd quarter and needing officiating help and an interception to help them out, I'm much less intimidated by them.

If we play our best ball I know we are capable of, we can beat them.

I'm more concerned about Montana right now, but think we should handle them at home.

Montana is an explosive offense, but also appears to have a bad defense. I do see them beating Weber next week though. If you struggle against Kennesaw, you're not beating a Montana team that already beat you convincingly earlier this year.

They let SELA drop 28 on them. I think they also allowed a lot of points all season to most opponents. They just outscored many in a shootout.

Thought that might happen today, they appear to have gotten some *Ahem* friendly calls.

Nichols was absolutely winning in the trenches, and running it up the gut. They helped beat themselves by trying to pass, and making bad throws.

Indeed.

The lob balls into double coverage was rather ill advised.

With the changes I’ve seen in the Nooch this season that no longer really worries me

It truly is shocking NDSU was beaten straight up for most of the game by Nicholls of all teams. I didn't watch. Did it seem fluky or a real sign of a beatable team against a better squad?

Their D line looks weak, and exploitable. Their offense is still ok, though didn't strike me as championship level. I'm thinking MSU takes them down, unless they just had an off game and fix a lot.

Next week won't tell us much though. Illinois St is not a great team, regardless of their big win over a Softland Conf team today. NDSU should win that one easily.

Bahar still had the hamstring issue. He was very ginger on that one positive yardage scramble and had a slight limp going back to the huddle.

Nichols had quite a few 6-10+ yard runs on the Bison defense. I have watched NDSU play a few times this year and they don't impress me like some of their prior teams.

Nichols averaged 4.17 YPC, and had a couple 16 and 18 yard runs. Bizon were lucky Nichols gave up on the run, and have a crappy run D also.

FCS Rushing Defense
1 - JMU
17 - MSU
27 - NDSU
32 - Nichols St

FCS Rushing Offense
4 - NDSU
6 - MSU
10 - JMU
24 - Nichols St

The soft underbelly of the bison has been exposed, and they are in trouble if MSU doesn’t stumble. This is a team that lives and dies by the run.

I think we’re overreacting. They were caught looking ahead past an overmatched opponent just like we were. The difference was we took over in the 2nd, not the 3rd.

The Good:

Everything about the Offense. TDs on every meaningful drive except one (kicked a FG).
John Daka breaks JMU single season sack record.
Brandon Polk crosses 1,000 yards receiving (2nd in JMU history).
Tutt's Pick 6. Cool to see after the injuries he's battled through.
Special Teams blocks.

The Bad:

Rash of 15 yard penalties. Maybe dubious, but don't give officials a reason to throw the flag.
Harry O'Kelly looked cold and lonely on the sidelines.

The Ugly:

Those two plays.

Monmouth strikes first, JMU strikes the next 7 times. 49-7 Dukes.

If that's the case, wait to buy Frisco tickets, as they will be super cheap when the smelly Bisons start unloading all of the ones they have bought already.
