USM finalized it's OOC football schedule for 2020 with an in-state FCS team (Jackson St) that has helped us traditionally draw around 30k attendance each time we've played

Sept 5 - South Alabama
Sept 19 - Jackson St
Sept 26 - at Auburn
Oct 24 - at Liberty

Well look at that.. Couldn't we at least played all but one at home.

I would have preferred opening the season with them. Playing them 3rd game is useless. You don't need a practice game then.

Not so bad. South Alabama and Jackson State will strike some local interest, and it gives you an extra home game. Get the Liberty road game over with, but be sure to win it. They'll return the trip later.

Only playing them for the extra 8k fans they’ll bring. If we still have Hopson, the number of fans for each team in the stadium may be close.

Press release from when the game was announced in 2017. Not too bad a deal

It will send Southern Miss to Lynchburg, Virginia, on Oct. 24, 2020, for which Liberty will shell out $500,000, according to a copy of the game contract the Hattiesburg American obtained via open records request. The return game, which will be played at M.M. Roberts Stadium, is set for Sept. 3, 2022, and Liberty will not receive any compensation for it.

completely joking but since everyone's attendance seems to trend downward towards the end of the season this would be a good end of the season opponent

Only game I’ll make next season will be the Liberty game.

I really like our OOC next year - best we have had for balance.

Boise and Pitt at home
ECU and Ohio on the road.

Great OOC schedule for y'all next year. All those opponents would be of interest to our fanbase. The harder games are at home too.

Rice plays all four OOC games in town. But only two at Rice Stadium.

Rice and Marshall are killing it in OOC scheduling.

Considering how Rice improved and Houston fell apart, that opening game could be a lot of fun.

Middle Tennessee has Indiana State and Virginia Tech at home, Duke and UConn on the road next year.
