RE: Men's BB @Marshall
I got to watch this game. Excellent team play, moving the ball around and finding the open shooter in rhythm, good defense, great rebounding and rim protection inside, a tough scrappy showing on the road. I thought the refs screwed Littleson on several blocking calls when they coulda shoulda called an offensive charge.

Still too many turnovers (19). Saunders seemed to be playing as the backup point guard and he ain't ready for that yet. When Marreon isn't on the floor the playmaking and ball handling are frightening.

Marshall will be marking their calendars for Sun Dec 8 at Savage.

Alderson and Littleson are the keys to this season. If those two can produce and we find a few bench guys we'll be alright. Not feeling a MAC championship out of this group, but another 20 win season.

1-1 and 4-11 against Valpo, 7-10, 8-11 against Marshall. Today's says nothing other than they had a hot night today or a bad night against Valpo. It says nothing to me about strength against ;eague teams that know you and can adjust their defense.

What was more consistent was one scorer and no apparent defense coming off the bench.

Brilliant assessment, nothing means anything until January.

Last season I would get to games early and watch Navigator and Alderson draining 3s during pregame warmups.. It was difficult to tell which guy was the better shooter. Come game time, Alderson would miss the one 3 pointer he would take and that would be that. Maybe Alderson finally has the confidence to take the shots that are there. He has the ability to get hot. Hopefully he now also has the confidence that he will get his minutes even if he misses a shot or two.

Given the disparity between Game 1amd2 I have to think there was a sit-down with Coach telling him “I can’t have a guy that won’t shoot on the floor”. Laid was similar for a couple years.

I'm assuming you meant Lauf? I waited 4 years for that kid to light up the scoreboard. Tough kid, good on D, but just wasn't a points guy.
