This one about over. But NIU at least showed some decent life the last 10 min of this game. Still can't seem to shoot and too many consistent break downs on rebounding and assignments on D.

Just got back from the game. The NIU athletics production of the game is just horrible. They actually threw wrapped hotdogs into the crowd. Yes, they came unwrapped in the air. The stupidest no energy contests during timeouts Ive ever seen. The arena has so much potential but no one in charge seems to be good at producing a fun, energetic sporting event! So sick of this bull**** excuse of a event.

Today’s game and the season are over! They cannot and will not have a successful b-ball season. Monty’s problem isn’t that he can’t coach or recruit it’s that he doesn’t have a feel for putting a team together. He recruited not one scorer for a team that was losing two big scorers. You can’t and won’t win at this level with defense and sub par offense.

You are 100% correct. We are stupid if we expect different results from the same coach. If we ever get a different coach the Convo could become a special place.

I missed the game, but I see the stats. Am I right that our starting point guard had zero a assists, zero free throws, and the team as a whole had four assists? The stats I saw have to be wrong!

Same here (followed on radio). Nothing against German (great player), but if the whole team revolves around one guy, there is no team. Everyone waits to see what he's going to do. No one else takes initiative.

Saw the stats. UNI had 21 bench points, NIU 7. UNI had 12 assists, NIU 4. Yet NIU had 11 blocks/steals, while UNI had 3. Think this supports dc1 comment r.e. defense and sub-par offense.

Iowa State just might take NIU apart next game.

yeah its a darn shame, the Convo would be one hell of a home court advantage if packed. You would think in 20 years NIU would just accidentally run into a 1 great team and 1 great season.

Can you imagine what this team will be like without German next year? Same coach and no superstar. I don’t even want to think about it.

UNI was a thing of beauty to watch. They have a bunch of kids who don’t look like basketball players, but can they play aggressively! Unlike the Huskies, they can get to the basket and are excellent shooters - even from 3 point range. There was no comparison in talent today.

Yes, the hot dogs were a joke. Paper wrappers flying everywhere. It looks like they were trying to promote the new hot dog vendor - Red Hot Chicago. They wrap the dogs in those paper wrappers, which is fine but not to throw in the stands. All they had to do was stick a piece of tape on them. Problem solved, but it’s probably too complicated for them. Of course, people were clamoring for them, even after the wrapper flew off.

UNI didn’t shoot well but they made 3 more 3pters than NIU and that was the difference.
