I thought the TV guys gave a date in the 1930s but didn’t say “on the road”. We started 3-0 in 2012-13 per TribeAthletics.com, beating Hampton, Liberty, and High Point. The Hampton game was at the Kap.

2012 we beat Hampton at home and Liberty and High Point on the road to open 3-0. We also started 2015 3-0.

Three straight true road wins to start at 3-0.

That is an accomplishment in this era.

Yes, I am sure you are right about it being on the road. I do not remember whether Jay said on the road. Mostly, my comment (based on Jay) was to refute what the game announcers were saying that it had been from the 1930's (and that same thing had been commented on in an even earlier post above).

Just watched that last second Barnes shot again. It was a great read. Nate came over to do the ball screen that we did all game (they always step out and double the ball handler). The guy on Bryce, I believe Murphy, turned his head for just a moment looking for the screener. As soon as Murphy moved his eyes is when Bryce made a bee line at the hoop. Everyone else was completely manned up and was slow to rotate. Great recognition and great play.

Perhaps we did do it some that I am not remembering, but I would have loved to take a play out of the Shaver play book and have the screening big man slip the screen as soon as the defender stepped out.

Nice to wake up to that score line. Looks like Barnes only needed to make one shot and came up big. Ladies won, too. Great basketball night unless you're a Kentucky fan.

There were a couple esoteric stats in the Tribe’s game notes, and I don’t think they got conveyed very well on the broadcast.

If I’m reading the notes correctly:

Dane is the first new W&M coach since 1946-47 to begin his career 3-0, and the first ever to have those three wins all be on the road.

Also, the notes seem to indicate that this is the first W&M team since 1935-36 to win its first three road games. (I wonder if that’s correct? Maybe they meant the first since 1935-36 to start 3-0 all on the road?)

Wasn't able to watch the game, but this is an impressive win against a Wofford team that has strong guard play and doesn't beat themselves. Great job of exploiting the mismatch of Van Vliet and Knight against their smaller lineup

What a lift off the bench and coming out show for Miguel Ayesa. 4 for 4 from beyond the arc.

Thornton had a tough night, no doubt. Everybody does, occasionally. However, he is very talented and, I'm sure he will continue to work hard on improving his game and will certainly help us win many more games in the future.
